GTX 570 Sli stutter/ extreme frame rate drop (CPU Bottleneck??!?)

Thread Starter
Hey guys its been awhile since ive posted but im back since I got a second GTX 570 yesterday cheap for some SLI goodness

Anyways Ive been playing some Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3 and with both titles I have been experiencing some bad stutter/framerate drops

This brings me to wondering what could be causing it since its quite irritating .

Could it be my cpu bottle necking the sli setup? Core i5 750 @ 4GHz with 6GB ram

Could it be the vram limitation on the 570's?

I understand that it could also just be the drivers/games themselves (im running WHQL 314.22)

Help would be appreciated with clarifying what could be causing the stutter biggrin.gif

What is your cpu usage at when the game stuttering occurs?

Yeah I heard about the stutter happening to other people aswell but It happens in Crysis 3 ALOT aswell.

Im guessing that it happens in Crysis 3 due to my memory limitations of 1280Mb of Vram?

Well without SLI you shouldn't encounter stutters as it only occurs when using SLI/CFX. Its most likely a driver issue.
Small wonder.

Depending on your resolution and video settings 1280mb of vram could be an issue. I dont have crysis 3 to know the exact usage at different resolutions but i can only image from some of the benchmarks and videos i've watched.

Alright I ran bioshock For a minute or so and took a screenshot of both cpu usage and gpu and ye it looks like drivers I guess.

When the stutter occurs it drops from around 110 down to 50 then goes back up frown.gif.
Its pretty annoying since I want to play the game so badly but the stutter is holding me back from enjoying it.

As for crysis 3 I run it on everthing Very High @ 1920x1080. Gpu usage in crysis is 99% but I still get stutter where the framerate drops down to 20 then goes back up to around 50.
