itl be a gaming computer (of course)
me and some friends also want to start are gaming channel youtube. il be doing the ALL the editing and some of the recording.
im trying to decide if i should get a gtx 680 or radeon hd 7970.

things il be doing/playing
-recording gameplay
-editing video
a little photoshop

games il be playing
-dungeon defenders
-killing floor
-garry's mod

-elder scrolls online
-guild wars 2
-some indie games that will run easily
-team fortress 2

other games like these il pick up along the way

i know both cards can probably run all the games on high-max but what about the photoshop , video editing, gameplay recording?

Like you said the 680 and the 7970 are of almost equal performance. The 7970 pulls away slightly with some games with the new never settle drivers but it all depends if you want physx or not.

As far as video editing and photoshop. Thats a workload for your cpu. If you're going to be doing alot of editing work i would suggest getting a 3770k

Other options would be to go with an FX-8350 if you havent purchased anything yet. Would save alot of money if thats an issue.

If you were just gaming I would say stick to the 8GB of RAM, but since you're going to be doing rendering you could make use of 16GB.

The 680 and 7970 are close--really just go with what you can find for a better price or what card you prefer. Both would work fine.
