Upgrades for $500 - Page 2

I think that if I were in your situation, the first thing I would get is an ssd, then an aftermarket cooler like CM hyper 212+ to overclock (It make a huge performance for 30$) ,then a quad core cpu (mhm... 3570k)
The last thing I would do is the gpu, even thought it would be very good, but not very smart in my opinion.
My point is that CPU don't get huge boost every gen. GPU do get very good performance upgrade every gen and your gpu is up to date even tho its not the fastest.
I would choose smooth and fluid gaming over beautiful image.
So here what I would do.
samsung ssd 120gb (120gb is enough depending on your game type) 250gb if you want to drop the money on it.
After if you have money left, id get hyper 212+ and overclock your cpu (may depend on your motherboard)
Get 3570k, but its not as useful as the other upgrade. (wait for haswell in other word)
finally, get a gpu...(I would really w8 for next gen)

Its not all about spending money, its about spending money wisely to make a computer upgradable on the long run.
Look you bought your computer not even a year from now, and you would already change part in it... (just doesn't make much sens in my head)
But still, the 3570k and 7950 is a major and epic upgrade from what you have.

I wouldn't pin my hopes on refreshes though. And it's not even a sure thing if Sea Islands will be launched this year or maybe it's just refreshes in the same way Nvidia is doing Kepler Refresh

Ok maybe it would be a long wait, but the point is that he already have something in the current gen

Good biggrin.gif you will be very happy with the 7870, I'd recommend the 7870 Twin Frozr II or the 7870 Hawk.
