[Kotaku] Watch 17 Minutes of Battlefield 4 Gameplay, Right Here - Page 22

Sometimes you gotta look bad to look good. no point for the dude to go running around like a boss sweeping the area fast when we are meant to get a sense of what the game will be like. Immersion? Playability? Simplicity? Urgency? One of the many things I can think of for why the video was created the way it is.

I'm not in the medical field but I seriously doubt a single swipe of a knife is enough to remove someone's leg. Even if the bone is "pulverized."

Also why does every demo video of a fps have someone that's Terribad playing it?

The people doing the demos are not usually in the most optimal position for gaming and it looks like he's playing with a controller.

Am I the only one who knows that this is PS4 footage? This is not running on some monster card ( at least NOT the 17 min. trailer we saw ) you can even see the PS icons in the top right during the gameplay sequences. So we have YET to truly SEE what BF4 will look like on PC.

Glad to see Battlefield is going the same route as Call of Duty. This is just the beginning. A $60 DLC followed by Premium then in another year and a half, another $60 DLC.

It's running on the new Frostbite 3 Engine, and if you can't see the graphical tweaks/changes and improvements then you should get your eyes checked.

"different multiplayer maps + camapaign. Sounds like the definition of an expansion" - so every game that's ever come out?

Been confirmed to be running an ATI 7990. In regards to the controls i'm pretty sure it's just controller support on the PC. Take Dead Space 2 and 3? The moment you plug in a controller and use 360 emulation via motionjoy the game's icons and some of the action parts are console buttons now, not keyboard. This is Battlefield 4 on PC, but looks to be beta.

LOLWUT?

You can see the key prompts in the middle of the bloody screen, plus the fact that AMD have come out and said it was on a 7990.

It says press E to open the doors, though. Those icons on the top-right could just be social features integrated into the game, unless I'm missing something that's definitely a playstation feature. I do hope it's possible to disable them.

Unless they fix the net-coding I couldn't care less about BF4...
I had loads and loads of fun with BF3 but the suppression and getting shot behind cover made the game unplayable.

Anyway, did anyone else notice that the 'Irish' character sound like Omar from The Wire? biggrin.gif

edit: I'm actually 100% on that voice being Omar tongue.gif

So please do tell...what were your expectations? Frostbite 2 was ahead of its time similar to CryEngine 2 when it first debuted....not to mention FB2 was optimized better (it scales well even on mid-range PCs) Let's not forget FB 2 is only 1.5 years old. Even if they named this engine FB3...it's really just a tweaked FB2 and would be closer to FB2.5. To expect the jump from BF2 to BF3 would be absurd. Even if they were able to make the graphics superior to Crysis 3 you'd get so many players whining that they get 20fps on their 560Ti...that's another thing...people will whine regardless of any design choice at the end of the day because this game carries the EA badge.

40% utilization was what was claimed by the devs...just because they up it to 70/80% doesn't mean it scales linearly...because you know...a game engine doesn't only deal with pure visuals...it needs to take into account phsyics, animation, audio etc
