Yes the Single Player will probably be crappy, but I only care about MP anyway, has long has they fix hit detection and the other major issues with bf3 MP, Ill be happy.

actually i would go far as to say it looks worse graphically than bf3 mainly because they removed the blue tint which did really add a false sense of realism. now it just looks like a poor man's crysis3. Not to mention the horrid singleplayer that emphasizes on being an interactive cutscene, a scripted action that wont even be believable had it been in a michael bay movie. In video game world, the player can only suspend disbelief if the "ridiculous action" is intiated by him as we do so often in battlefield multi but when its scripted like that it does not suspend disbelief. DICE you failed again, but its okay since you mainly catering to COD fans anyway who are liking what they see. I know a friend who is an avid COD fan but slowely just recently came over to the battlefield side interested in nothing more than singleplayer and he likes what he sees. He likes scripted action that makes you feel you are part of a movie directed by michael bay and with lots of corridor shooting in between to make you feel like a "real" soldier.

I don't quite understand the logic of why you think a company would offer this. I can understand why you would want it, but from the other side, it'll cost more to have multiple versions available (most of the cost coming in the testing of the stuff actually being locked as well as the consolidation of separate licenses) and I assume by wanting separate versions you'd expect them to be individually cheaper than the full version. So you want them to spend more money to sell something for less?

And also, Doom, lol @ wanting the progression. If it was skill-based, fine. But any progression that can be made while losing isn't worth the coding it took. Before progression dominated the FPS genre, an FPS game had to be very good to keep people playing. Now, people are so obsessed with chasing the carrot they're perfectly fine with ignoring holes in the treadmill they're running on. Remember that article on how COD ruined a generation? Non-skill based progression is a huge reason.

I can not comprehend this need that ppl have to make a video game as realistic as humanly possible.

Personally, I don't. And if I wanted realism to the degree some ppl talk about I would have joined the armed forces...

I have one problem with this trailer. Why do they let a guy who doesn't know how to aim and needs a grenade launcher or chopper support to take out more than 2 enemies control the demo. Comeon!

Judging from that footage, I think it's safe to say what we can expect of the visuals.

3. Yea, but they actually took skill to fly. If you we're good, you were rewarded. If you sucked, you got punished. However you could actually practice in AI games...
4. Well, if there's a vote-kick option....
5. If they're $10 and add as much as the BF2 ones added...
6. The refresh rate on them was way too high in BF2/2142. I'd say nerf it by about 50%
7. So. Noobs can be noobs.
8. Yea. It's called progression that doesn't take 2 seconds to complete. I played a TON of BF2/BF2142, and even BC2 and didn't reach max level. Heck, in BF2142, my most played BF game ever, I still don't have one entire tree unlocked, let alone ANY of the x-pack stuff.

The only people who would complain are the scrubs.

I think by random deviation he meant that when u shot someone in bf2 sometimes you would see puffs of smoke and their character twitching as if being hit by gunfire but you would do no dmg to them.

The aircraft actually did not take any skill at all to fly, bombers were capable of dropping five bombs at once pretty much guaranteeing a kill. The fighters still had bombs as well and could one shot any vehicle with them. Rockets I dare say take way more skill as you constantly have to keep your cursor on the target thats usually moving making sure each rocket hits and then have to do it again. Yes planes have to fly at unrealistically slow speeds to do this but it still takes more skills than bf2 drop bombs and get instakills. AA in bf3 is also more potent and capable if not stopping at least scaring away aircraft, compared to bf2 fixed vulnerable aa.

The amount of people waiting for a plane on the runway was disgusting even if they were not teamkilling anybody, and yes its because planes take less skill to fly in bf2, in bf3 they are not deathmachines unless you are really good and far more vulnerable. Also alot of the times, the tker was the admin of the server.

special forces, euro force and armored fury together is the same price as premium and still does not allow those who did not purchase play with those who did, effectively dividing the game like bf3.

I did not reach the max level in bf2 and bc2 but i certainly did unlock everything, in bf2 it was helped by yes buying special forces; an incentive to purchase it was you get a free unlock for every class instead of earning them fair and square. At least in bf3 you have to complete challenges to get the guns that come with the xpack. BC2 I easily unlocked everything. Bf 2142 i did not play as much so I did not.

I was certainly not a scrub and just pointing out the way various people view bf2 through rose tinted glasses

Plenty of mod support, realistic gameplay, voip, and tactical gameplay that requires teamwork to win. And overall I've just had way more fun playing RO2 than BF3. Oh and RO2 is getting an entire pacific expansion...FOR FREE.

I have almost 300hrs on RO2 but only 160hrs on BF3. If they don't change the BF4 multiplayer from BF3 I just won't be interested. After a couple rounds on BF3 multiplayer I just get bored.

Does anyone even still play RO2 but the bots lol?

this is a mega travesty that has divided the battlefield community. it's not about achieving realism. its about making it believable the same way die hard 1 was but 4 and 5 aren't. the aim for these crappy single player experiences seems to get to the next scripted action chrckpoint. if you enjoy this then you are part of the problem and I'm not sure why you play on PC.
