No random deviation meant that even though you are aiming 100% on target there is a random chance the bullet would not hit it's target and be a little off. BF2 had terrible aiming/gunplay.

What you are talking about were the hit boxes that lagged behind moving players and vehicles. If aimed properly while they were moving you could see the hit (dust / blood) but no damage, if you aimed slightly behind a moving player it would kill. Choppers had lagging hitboxes as well.

The best thing about BC2 and BF3 were that you hit what you aimed at providing a very satisfying gunplay experience.

ITT: People saying a sequel looks like a prequel, complaining about one of the worlds best engines, and a single player campaign they technically get for free.

I personally really like how the SP is starting to look like MP. Preordering.

NO SUPPRESSION?!?!

YES!! FINALLY!!

I hope it's only in single player but if not, that saddens me. I like the suppression mechanic in public matches. I would much rather them just have it as a server option. I understand you don't like it because of the random nature, but there's so many other random variables going on in public matches that it really doesn't make a difference not having it.

I really hope they just have the separate competitive modes where most random variables are disabled. That way everyone can be happy.

Battlefield 4™ announced
Pre-order to receive a Battlefield 4™ Premium Expansion Pack

Why would I care when I know that expansion pack is going to be included in the premium bundle later on? I'll probably be getting the premium anyways, essentially having purchased the same expansion pack twice.

Yay for owning Back 2 Karkand... twice.

Heck why pay $60 to pre-order, when the premium costs $50 and for $10 more you get the whole game + premium!

Look at the games. Compare BF3 with BF4. You can clearly see they use the same game engine. It doesn't matter what EA's marketing department calls it just to churn the hype engine. It's so similar that from just looking at them you already know they are using the same engine.

Just as 2142 used a "modified Refractor 2 engine", the core was the same as the Refractor 2 engine used for BF2. Same Engine, minor tweaks.

Secondly, you don't even know if Frostbite 3 really is that different. For all you know, the only difference between FB3 and FB2 is that they've added support for next-generation consoles. Slightly better graphics now? Sure, they could have cranked the graphics on Frostbite 2 for Battlefield 3 had technology advanced quicker. The option was always there, but they just weren't ready to use it.

If Battlefield 4 looked completely different, and was using a new Unreal Engine or new game engine built from the ground-up by Digital Illusions CE, then I would definitely see an arguement. This is not a "new" game engine.

You can already conclude that they are stretching it by calling it Frostbite 3, simply because there was huge advancement between Frostbite 1.5 to Frostbite 2. A 0.5 change netted huge differences in graphics, yet now a 1.0 change nets minor tweaks? That's fishy. Welcome to the EA hype machine. And welcome to "modified Frostbite 2", a.k.a. Frostbite 2.1.

zzz It's again- a minorly changed FB2- its nothing like the differences from FB1 or any other game engine version update...

They said before the game would use FB2- now they call it FB3 for marketing reasons- ... its FB2 as far as Im concerned.

There's a huge difference not having it- it means your bullet either goes where you point it... or it leaves the barrel at 45 degree angles.... not hitting anything.
