Gaming Headset ~100$

Thread Starter
Hello guys, So right now Im searching for new headset, becouse old one is like breaking apart. Microphone quality is seriously bad, and I use teamspeak like everyday, sound sometimes like start crackling and stuff. So I need new one. Been looking onto these two:
Steelseries Siberia V2
Corsair Vengeance 1500
So which one of these is better? I need headset with good mic quality and also sound quality. Also I dont have dedicated soundcard only integrated. If you have any other suggestions around same price point of those be free to suggest. Thanks!

From what I've heard it is 100x more cost effective to buy quality headphones and a quality mic separately. Can anyone confirm?

........can't find a decent sound card. If you have a PCI slot on your mobo and 5 bucks for shipping, you can have my rocket fish sound card (it has a creative X-fi chip on it so don't worry).

Mic...Samson Go pro? Search for a sale or something. You only need it to be 10 dollars off to fit in your budget.

if you were to pick one of the 2 I would sugest corsair 1500. But like Tjj226 Angel said you'd be better of with an analog headset with a soundcard.
I would just make sure that audio headsets like this one are also good at reproducing spacialization.

I use the G930 everyday and it is hands down THE best headset I have ever used. You truly won't believe your ears. I've heard things in games I never even knew I was missing using cheap headsets. Do yourself a favor and BUY BUY BUY now! In reference to spatialization this headset is worth every penny! You can also set up a key in a profile to use TS while you are walking around your house or whatever. This was the absolute best Christmas gift my wife has ever given me!

I agree. That is a really poor recommendation.

Wireless introduces noise into the audio, the sound quality of those headphones is garbage, the battery will die out after a while (meaning that the batter will not recharge), these types of headphones from logitech are also know to have sort of poor build quality too.

I had the Corsair Vengeance 2000 for 4 weeks and just returned it to Amazon. I do not recommend it. Connecting the bluetooth was an enormous PITA. It would take me 1-2 minutes to get the thing to connect. Noise from my PC power supply was transmitted into the headphones as well, this was really annoying. They were extremely comfortable and the mic worked really well. I was told several times that the mic sounded really good through Mumble. The sound quality through the headphones was nothing special. The surround processing was far from "surround." I prefer a good set of headphones and DAC to anything, especially this Corsair headset. For gaming I am going back to my Plantronics Gamecom 777. I think it sounds better than the Corsair, and it is much easier to use.

I think the bad points outweigh the good points on the Corsair Vengeance 2000 so I would recommend that you not consider it. If the 1500 performs better due to its wired configuration, it may be something to consider.

This is the most "solid" headset I've ever owned. IMO a quality build, unless of course you're throwing them around during a rage quit. No noise or interference bleed through of any sort until you get to the outer edge of the reception area. The sound quality is actually quite good. Yes, the battery will probably "die" eventually. I get an average of ~10 hours of wireless use out of them before they need to be recharged. It does on occasion "reconnect" to the transmitter, it usually happens somewhere in the vicinity of every few days that I'm actually using them. In other words, not often enough to be bothersome or that you're missing anything from whatever you are listening to. It take's approximately 2-3 sceonds to connect initially. Buy em or don't I was throwing it out there, but to dismiss it in an out of hand fashion without owning them or having used them is uncalled for, but you know how it is, opinions... everyone has them thumb.gif

I do not mean to offend you when I say this, but I tried them all for all of 2 minutes, my ears bled, and that was the end of that.

Now personally, if they were 60-70 bucks, and you NEEDED wireless headphones, then they aren't bad. But currently they are REALLY over priced for REALLY bad sound quality.
