Gaming Headset ~100$ - Page 2

In other words if you are looking for a life-saver headset, stick to what you know, what feels safe, wired. You could always make yourself an opinion on wireless in the future.

If you shoot for midrange, get an usb.
If you are thinking about a transition to a top quality audio equipement, don't invest that much and pick up a sound card and a mic and stick to your current headset until you can get a good one.
Or go for a top tier usb if you only play games with your headset some of them do great.

Samson Go Mic - http://www.amazon.com/Samson-Mic-Compact-USB-Microphone/dp/B001R76D42/ref=pd_cp_pc_3

Total? Less than a $100 without shipping/tax.
Result? Better than any Logitech G930 — no offense to owners — crap.

I own and have owned 2 sets of turtle beach X11. You can buy them at Wal-Mart for like $50. They use ur typical pink ( mic ) and green ( headphone ) jacks as well as usb connection for the power. They sound amazing and I'm like you i am on vent for 3+ hours each night and it sounds great.

Check it out.

They have discontinued the X11's and they are now X12's

Says they are for xbox 360 and pc. so they are dual purpose.

P.S. these things are light weight and breath well.... On weekends can do an all day gaming session and doesnt bother my head / ears at all.

Have you considered the Logitech G930? Can be had for around $80 on sale, definitely a very nice pair of wireless headphones.

Was gonna recommend the G930s as well... but after hearing all the "Audiophile snob" comments above... Well... wrong crowd.

Good luck finding what you want on the cheap.

It's ok to like your headset, i'm glad some of you are into the wireless logitech, it means their products are not out of line. But when you've bought a few headsets and you've been through a lot of thinking and comparing, you just whish the best for the others and don't want them to make the same mistakes you made.
