The spec sheet comparisons are about as close to being a noob as you can get and I'd expect on a forum like this that would never be used.

I am all ears for how fast Iphone 5 is, and I know that the GPU amazing(even in 1080p offscreen benches), if I can get a 5" 1080p version I'd be all for it. The current form factor doesn't suit my media consumption needs( video playback on a plane, etc). Granted S3 have its own drawbacks in the media consumption department(not as good in battery life), but spare batteries remedy that nicely.

I am of the opinion that expanding into the Phablet market fits more with Iphone's Premium Product image, and also puts Iphone5's strongest point (the GPU) to great use. Whereas scrapping features to fit into a low end price point doesn't do the same.

But not all, and if Apple don't go Quad this time around (at which point, I hope you and kenny are prepared to eat this "unnecessary" remark regarding the cores) then they're going to get left in the back.

$150, nothing higher or don't make one at all. IMO. They should of did this years ago too btw, too little too late? Plus how are these going to compare to Androids low-end phones ( I got mine for $20 with an upgrade, it does basically everything another android phone can do, except slower. I can still play Pokemos and use other GBA/GB/SNES etc emulators.

You're still being silly. The amount of cores a mobile CPU has doesn't have any relation to being ahead or behind the curve. If Apple keeps their OS optimized for anything less than a quad core, the iPhone 5 will still be fast in another 4 years. Try getting a single core Android phone to run 4.2, it's not going to be pretty.

If the iPhone 7 still has a dual core but runs iOS just as fast as the Galaxy S7 runs Android with it's 12-core CPU, then what's the point of going over two cores?

Back of what?

Software is more important on a phone than hardware.

My iPhone 3GS (iOS 6.1.3) is just as smooth as a SGS3 running Jellybean 4.2.2 despite the hardware of the SGS3 being in a completely different league. And before you ask, yes I have used a SGS3, in fact I had one up until about a week ago. I don't see why you make it sound like it's the Jesus of phones. It is good, but it's not better than the iPhone 5 in the real world, and equally the iPhone 5 isn't better than the SGS3 in the real world. Both phones are just as over hyped as each other and both are just as good as each other in the real world.

$20 with a 2 year contract I assume. That same phone is probably $200-300 out of contract. Plus you arent going to get an aluminum enclosed phone for $20. Not happening.

Look at the Nexus 4. It's $300-350 without any subsidization. I assume this nonexistent iphone is targeting that sector.

No it wasn't.... I have an Iphone 5 right here with me (my classmates). Looks horrible.

So when did they get it?

I know quite a lot of people with an iPhone 5 which they purchased after the "iChip" thing and they use it without any cases or bumper things. They don't have any chips. One of them does have a bad scratch on the back, but what do you expect? It fell out of his pocket when he was doing 25 mph on a motorbike.

But it won't be such a case. And the biggest issues is that iOS, only running two cores, is holding back development. iOS is the gaming consoles of the mobile market. If they had quad cores, finally, developers would start to utilising them more than they already are.

And, comparing iOS to Android is a bit off, because iOS is inferior to Android and runs much less stuff (which is how it's able to appear as smooth as Android).
