[LRs/AMD] Battlefield 4 Demo ran on HD 7990 - Page 16

In a perfect world having the fastest multi-gpu/single card would not somehow trickle down into helping sell more midrange cards. Buying midrange is like buying anything else you make a purchase based on the merits of what you're actually purchasing. Whoever these people are that see Titan benchmarks and then say to themselves "hell yeah nvidia is owning my next card is going to be a 660ti boost" need a talking to.
There is a problem though ! That is , that there are thousands of people ( wallets ) , that will do just that . Sorry but it is true .

I rest my case. Excellent post.

i agree, it is better for us. This situation creates a state where both Nvidia and AMD need to take a second look at their GPU lines and trying to do more than was originally planned. (aka the roadmaps) Thus the (bit wealthy) consumer enjoys a competition that results in better advancement in the GPU tech, better GOU offerings and (possibly) better pricing.

The same is with AMD and Intel now, though not in the dark realms of Extreme Segment where the all mighty 2011 chips rule ferociously and beyond that the mount doom where the Extreme Intel Servers control with a cruel iron fist.

("One Chip to rule them all, One Chip to Out-Price them all, One Chip to bring them all and in the darkness Out-Bin them" tongue.gif)

The 7990 Malta renewed my interest in AMD. I think it was perfect timing and placement. A dual card GPU priced between $800-$1000 that beats a single card at $1000 is brilliant. There is a huge difference between the $2000 gamer and the $1000 gamer and this fills that void. It's not going to be hugely popular, but it fills a niche/gap for many gamers.

since playstation and xbox are amd, they have zero reason to go with ncvidia, since bf franchise is console game anyway

I apologize if this is a stupid question as I have been under a rock since this 7990 Malta topic came up but....Would it be able to pair a 7990 and a 7970 for tri fire?

People that are claiming this is running on PS4 realize that the PS4 doesn't exist yet right? All the demos we've seen so far are off dev kits.

If they said it was a 7990 it was a 7990 the keyboard prompts were pretty clear.

True, they should also read the DAMM articles which spouted within 4 mins of this going live live, where Bach said it was on PC,but that is too much to hope for these days mate.

By AMD's logic, yes. But I bet there is a reason why it won't work. And it would be Quint-fire. Or CrossfireX
