I don't want any excuses when you spout crap like that when the game comes out. I don't want to hear just wait we're going to fix it. I don't want to hear marketing balogna about "oh you benchmarked the wrong map, we're really strong on this other map". I don't want any excuses. You want my money you should earn it.

This is not a personal attack against Falknir just my 2c.

For the record AMD didn't "got their crossfire woes down to a more acceptable level". They have a roadmap which is a first real acknowledgement that there is a serious problem and a tepid agreement to start fixing it possibly in July.

To be fair, Nvidia released a beta driver that improves Bioshock performance, AMD has still not done the same. I agree they should all work out of the box or at least within 24 hours of release. At the same time however, it's pretty hilarious to see people celebrating an Nvidia victory when they know very well that it takes a single driver update to flip things on their head.

Basically it's my opinion that unless we're seeing massive performance loss or issues on one side or the other, celebrating a benchmarking victory is just foolish.

Agree++ ^

It's bad enough so many games launch with day 1 patches now. Now I have to also wait for the driver update.

I am not making excuses, but stating that basing competitive performance argument's around benchmarks from a very-fresh game release is very foolish. A single patch/driver gets released that changes the numbers and everyone starts singing a different tune. If they somehow resolved some of those issues for that particular video, awesome, but no where did I say they resolved them entirely.

I dont know if the definition unplayable is correct. To be fair i dont think stuttering alone is the issue with this game. For example dx9 is butter smooth. But dx11 is worse and i dont see any difference with IQ.

Reminds me fc2...

Cool, good to know. Mine was also stuttery, until I started tweaking it, and eventually got it to play smooth.

Majin SSJ Eric posted a few times that it was unplayable on his 7970 CFX set up.

Here are similar reports and a fix

Ow you Nvidia trying to be the biggest and baddest kid in the sand box.

Source?

Nvidia couldnt release a full dual titan on one card, it would first of all force them to lower the price of Titan single gpu's (no ones paying 2,000 for 2 titans when they could have 4 680's)

And even if they did, the new 7990 is rumored to be a completely different chip then previous 7xxx series chips. Meaning you should basically call it the Raedon 8990, or if this makes more sense, How amazing is a straight up regular 7970? upon release it was pretty good. How amazing is the 7970 Ghz ? badass decent overclocks smash the 680. Well each gpu on the malta 7990 is going to be like 7970 Ghz Delux edition.

the new 7990 could easily be nearly on par with titan, (within 10-15% on straight clocks) gpu for gpu.. Amd is more then capable of this. Have u seen the improvements on the Thati 7870? Imagine amd wanted to smash nvidia they apply those and the improvements within archetecture for the 7790 and u got urself a mean 2x gpu chip that quite possible could stock be faster then 2x titans.

Dont fanboy out yet there is tons of doubt amd could be leading us up to a cliff and watch us fall but there is a chance they could bring nvidia too there knees too.

If they released 7990 and lets say put a $900 dollar price tag on it, and it was within 10-20% gpu for gpu on stock clocks with titan (meaning 1 7970 gpu in the 7990 is within 10%) along with throwing BF4 and 2 other major titles in there lowering the real cost to like $750 with the free games. I would like to see nvidia sell one titan to a non fanboy after that.

If amd prays of putting a price tag above $800 on this the chip would have to be AT the VERY LEAST 2x 7970 Ghz editions..

I can pick up 7950s for 249.99 right now, I could go to microcenter and grab the Diamond ref 7950 for 239.99 and I got a buddy with a 10% discount thats 219.99 I could get nearly 4x 7950's for the price of 7990? Naw way son they gotta be packing some serious head in that card 7970 TXTL or some ****

Only if it has some kind of hardware based frame metering like the GTX 690. Otherwise it will be a stuttering mess just like the 7970 CF, and nobody is going to care about how many frames it can throw out in such an inconsistent manner.

If you read up on Kepler, it has hardware based frame metering, which is why it performs so much better in multi-GPU configuration than GCN. I have no idea if GCN has it, but based off it's multi-GPU performance, I'm just going to assume it doesn't, so I'm not expecting any miracle fixes for the 7970s. But if the 7990 is a different chip, hopefully it has something built in... (and then the HD 8000 series to follow up).

As an Nvidia customer I think it's excellent that AMD will compete strongly. The more strong competitive companies, the better for the consumers.
