[Build Log] 'White Blizzard' Bitfenix Prodigy

Thread Starter
Overview
Im going to be building my first MiniITX build using the Bitfenix Prodigy as the case designed to be used as a HTPC/Light gaming machine.

I have my main desktop which is used for work and gaming but sometimes I just want to lay around and watch a film, play a game etc without sitting crouched over a mouse and keyboard. Which is the main reason for the build and I will be utilising the Xbox Media Centre (XBMC) to accomplish this which should provide me with a easy going UI which can be controlled from a remote/controller. I guess you could say I want to make my own next gen console but using all the power and software the PC can give.

For the time being i'll just be using the IGPU of the intel cpu and will get a dedicated gpu in the next few months when I have some more money! smile.gif

Updates should be over the next week or so but as im buying parts as I get the money there may be time gaps, so stay tuned!

Right here are the bits ive so far received.

Corsair vengeance ram

Asrock z77e motherboard
Thanks overclockers uk for the free asus brochure and haribo thumb.gif

The box was slightly damaged on the top right corner but doesn't effect anything inside

Get quite a few accessories with the mobo

Nice looking board overall with a lot of good features and I like the protective foam around the edge of the board, surprised other manufacturers haven't caught on with that idea.

Asus blu ray player, not much to look at rolleyes.gif

I have a bitfenix prodigy and I love it. I use it as my day to day computer as well as light gaming but I have a low end graphics card.
Just get a card like a 7750 which has great gaming performance for about $100

Are you going to consider a mesh front for that fan?

I thought about it but decided i'll just see what temps/noise level is etc first and see if its needed. Hopefully I wont need one as I prefer the solid panel.

Also forgot to say ive got a strip of alchemy blue led im going to be installing.

Forgot to upload this latest pic showing a modular sata power cable as the non mod sata power couldn't reach both my odd and my hard drive bays so unfortunately have to use both wires. Also wired in the back fan with a molex so hopefully it wont be to noisy at full speed and have routed the led strip wire and connected with molex. I think i'll put it at the front of the case but may put at the back if it looks to bright. This is why I need to power it up.
