passive or silent cooler

Thread Starter
any recommendations? Should not have fan.

The purpose is to minimize noise and dust.

Running 2600k stock.

Also can I lower the temps even more by adjusting settings in bios? Like vcore etc?

Right now I'm sitting at 75c-85c just watching mgs gdc conference.

I have switch 810 case. I have removed all fans and also the h50s fan, so it's now cooling passively.

Thanks!smile.gif

The oroshi has been EOL for a few years now i believe...

The best passive cooler is the Nofan CR-95C

Make sure you undervolt your CPU amap

Wasn't expecting them to be that large redface.gif.

I'm not going to oc at all, I might even underclock/undervolt

Yeah, Passive cooling needs a lot of space. The Nofan is relatively light weight though.
If you undervolt and dont put a lot of load on your cpu a cheaper option like a Thermalright HR-02 Macho might be sufficient too, it will certainly be much better at fanless operation than your H50. smile.gif.

I just need something better than h50 but not too expensive.

H50 still makes noise from pump which I haven't unplugged (will test that now).

I'm doing this because I do not need that much power from system(I needed it before, but since now I do not make use of it!) And I only play CS:GO (sometimes) which is very LIGHT.

I actually underclocked it to 2.3ghz and .900vcore and removed HT. In CS:GO I still get 150+fps, so now I even underclocked my gtx 570 to the lowest, and doesn't go below 80fps. Want to get that to 60fps;)

The system feels as fast as it was at 4.5 ghz tongue.gif
