5GB VRAM and 320-bit bus is still debatable..

I'm not sure how you can say that with such certainty. The Titan is only about 40-50% faster than a GTX 680, and if they drop a new 780 board that's less than that, you'll end up with a lot a users that skip the 700 series entirely. We'll see, I guess. It's all speculation at this point, unless you know something I don't.

Really hope to pull the trigger on the 7 Series. Have waited long enough.

@malmental SPEAK DAMN IT! biggrin.gif

This!

To be exact, a Titan is only 25-30% faster than a GTX 680. If a GTX 780 should be faster than a GTX 680 but slower than a Titan, I would assume that a GTX 780 only 10-15% faster than a GTX 680.

If you look at this image from Nvidia

Just put the GTX 780 in between Titan and GTX 680 (at around 41000-45000). To conclude, just get a GTX 680 and forget bout GTX 780, plus you will never know when GTX 780 gonna arrive.

also if the GTX 7 series is not Maxwell and in continuation of what nVidia has done in the past as in GTX 5 series is to the GTX 4 series,
a tweak... remember nVidia is now following Intel's 'tick-tock' philosophy now..
so the GTX 7 series being a tweak and not the new arch will mean 15% gain 'likely'...

this Kepler arch and the way nVidia handled business has been different then the Fermi era.
take the GTX 680 for instance, do all you guys realize the GTX 680 was to be the GTX 670 or GTX 670 Ti
before nVidia realized Radeon wasn't that big of a deal.
the GTX 680 is not the GTX 580 replacement as first planned, GTX Titan is/was to be that...
moral to that fact is the difference between the handling of Fermi and Kepler

I will say this, with the release of the Little Titan next month or the month after we might have to revise and then revisit this conversation.
because that GPU is going to have me 'perplexed'...

edit:
now if the GTX 7 series is indeed Maxwell and not Kepler..... all bets are off.. tongue.gif

one more things since it seems not one of you guys thought about this....
pricing.... pricing alone should tell you that the GTX 780 will not beat GTX Titan..

The more I read about folk's speculation on 780, the more I think that it's just a "refreshed" Kepler than a new Maxwell. The new Maxwell could probably be the 800 series.

It's "old" but still make sense, a 780 will stay just above 680.

That's why it makes no sense that some folks speculate the 780 to be 30-50% faster than 680.

Even if GTX 700 is not a large improvement to GTX 600, i will be putting some cash down on the next hit of GPU's, time to put Fermi to rest....

With a new series comes price drops, this is when i buy..... most profitable time smile.gif

GTX titan is fastest graphics card in the world. Nvidia need I say more, and guess what it has exactly what you are saying more memory bandwidth. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-titan

25% better? Are you clueless? My titan does 85%-90% of 2 680s.

The 780 will be under the titan performance easily and they will price it considerably lower. Look for the 780 to be around 560$ where the titan is 1000. Learn economics and real performance of the hardware before you post again, thank you.
