That's because it's Double Data Rate memory. 400 MHz is 800.

It's a computer!

Oh i forgot when i got the heatsink evo212 for the cpu my brother installed it and didnt take the sticker off the plate that connects to the cpu which it clearly says to do.
Then when he over clocked it to 3.9 it wouldn't work at all, also 3.4 was unstable with playing games but loaded into windows and ran desktop fine but i didnt have the powerfull fan on the back of the comp then... so we underclocked it to 3.08 around 6 months later i took apart the computer to clean it and noticed the sticker on and read it and searched the manual and took it off :/ .
Im sure it hasnt done any serious damage to the cpu though because i have had it overclocked to 2,9 then 3.08 then 3.14 all stable now.
And its going pretty good in counterstrike source, but seeing how counterstrike global offensive is out i really need the extra boost to 3.4.
