MP there are lots of reviews out there that say the GTX 660 Ti is the best @ 1080p in a few games besides this one.
I believe the Crysis 3 review also states the GTX 660 Ti then the GTX 670 @ 1080p is the best.
so it's not surprising to see it doing well and I'm glad I kept mine for possible SLi.

on the Radeon side of things the HD 7970 GHZ edition is the only way to go for me.

edit:
VRAM allocation is interesting.

Graphics memory usage

Before we move onwards into the conclusion it is handy to know how much graphics memory the game requires in a preferred resolution. You'll notice that 2GB graphics card are sufficient and that's the number this game has been aiming on. A graphics card with 2 GB of graphics memory minimum is really recommended by us. Should you have less available and run into performance issues, the easiest way out preventing frames from being swapped back and forth in that frame buffer is to select lower quality settings or disable AA levels.

Quote:
Above you can see a wide variety of in-game selectable quality modes @ 2560x1600. We switch in-between the image quality modes (Low to Ultra) to monitor frame buffer utilization. As you can see we are hovering at the 1.5 GB of graphics memory with FXAA enabled starting at High quality mode settings already. Once you increase the quality settings towards Ultra mode you start to reach a turning point where the game almost hits 2 GB of graphics memory. The measurement shown above is fairly similar and applicable for 1920x1080/1200 and 2560x1600. Now not everywhere in the game that much graphics memory is used, but there are some critical points in-game where you will reach or even pass the 2GB in combination with the highest quality modes. If you'd apply an exclusive AA mode like MSAA though graphics card drivers, we have no doubt you'll breach the 2GB threshold. So be careful with that.

Overall the advise is simple enough, make sure you have a graphics card with 2 GB of graphics memory when using High to Ultra image quality modes. Please keep in mind though that memory utilization will vary a bit per level, it's not a very precise thing to measure. As such take these values as an indication, not a precise measurement.

Anyway, 2GB minimum for your graphics card, it is the magic number to find Elizabeth wink.gif

I'm playing in eyefinity with max fov as well. All fine here. No headaches.

I am pretty disappointed in the graphics though. Seems pretty weak for a game that just launched.

I don't see how they can be classified as disappointing...Bioshock 1 --> 2 --> all follow the same linear graphical improvements...I.E. they kept the game true to what it was originally.

I can see how people in general can be disappointing but, this would be like going back in time to Final Fantasy 10 and calling them disappointing based on currently released games...Or 7, for that matter.

Whenever I play, the game takes advantage of up to 2.5-2.6 GB VRAM (1200p, Ultra, max FOV). There shouldn't be any performance hits with 2 GB though.

Go into the .ini and change PoolSize to 1024 and up, I managed to hit over 3.5GB easily last night, Ultra 2560x1440 biggrin.gif

I don't think it's that simple.

Looking at he initial and revised figure at PCGH, the minimum frame rate has stayed constant at below 20 fps with both drivers. This, in the absence of more detailed data, suggests that the card is likely being choked due to a lack of graphics card ram, and possibly stuttering at the highest settings. Then considering how close the cards are at the higher end of the frames, before seeing that one has it's minimum frames listed at closer to 30, it's safer to conclude the complete opposite is true.

here's mine if anyone is curious what 7950 CFX score might look like at 1440p. This is Ultra with DDOF.

oh and my cards are clocked at 1175/1500
