there is a thread in the 3d guru games section with folks rather frustrated with stuttering and screen tearing in both the red and green camps. but for me, seeing my vram usage immediately slammed up to 1260 of 1280 i get three lines of tearing strafing left or right while just looking at a wall.

my budget is not willing to "sidegrade" gpus just for more vram right now. mad.gif

btw, a wiki for some "common problems" with solutions to edit the ini file:

dude.. sell your GTX 570 and then for literally pocket change you can at least grab a GTX 660.
I know you want the GTX 670 but this is still more of an upgrade then sidegrade.
you can get buy with your GTX 550 Ti on low settings for a day or two if in transition.
how many GPU's have I been through including our time on Tom's...?
minimal expenses bro..

My card runs the game rather well. I'm running on a mix of settings though, with a few Ultra, High, and I think one Normal.

I ran the benchmark on low at 1080p and got an average of about 30 FPS. It feels faster in-game though. I only have a 6750M 512MB.

thanks for mentioning that. got the poolsize way down to 400 and using only adaptive V-sync helps alot. also using OverallTextureStreamingBias=0.800000 my vram is still starting out around 950 and gets to 1270 after a few minutes but i am not getting the four bars across the screen when strafing left/right unless its an iron gate or white vertical lines.

i appreciate your thinking/advise and thought out the same but i just can't do that. hell even the new release of the 650ti boost had me for a split second, just for more ram. but with a bit of tweaking in nvinspector both farcry 3 and crysis 3 ran w/o any problems. i just can't bring myself to go for anything less than 670 . . in the meantime i am really thinking that BI is more of a dev problem than hardware. now if i starting having problems with more new releases . . .

Is anyone able to recommend settings for me to play on? I have a 6750M 512MB, i5 2400S 2.5GHz, and I'm playing at 1080p. Currently using Low settings and getting an average of 30 FPS, but would like to be able to play with higher textures -- but the frame rate drop with Normal textures is noticeable (25 FPS), and when I pan the camera, the textures in the scene often appear very low resolution for a second or two and then they render properly. (Is this because of a low fill rate, or lack of VRAM?)

Hoping there's some kind of miracle setting I can enable or disable to give me a bit of a boost (though I don't expect one) tongue.gif
