Asrock extreme4 FM2 ram install problem

Thread Starter
Well I just picked up this pc and it came with a 2gb G.Skill stick. I bought some 2x4 Corsair Dominator ram from Amazon on sale and after I installed it my monitor is showing no input. I then tried it on my TV via HDMI with the same issue. So I reinstalled the old ram, same issue. I am at a loss, the pc was running great up until this point. Any ideas?

Clear the CMOS via the jumper on the MB and try booting it again.

Did that, as well as remove the battery, still no luck.

Odd, I had a very similar issue with a build not too long ago. It took a couple attempts at clearing the CMOS to get it working, but eventually it did boot right back up.

Nothing else was touched while you were in there? Maybe something simple, like a cable unplugged to get better access to the RAM slots? Never know.

Odd indeed. I have tried to clear the cmos a few times now, rechecked all of the cables as well. Now I am wondering if the mobo shorted out somehow, which I have never had happen to me in many years of working on computers. Though if that were the case, why would everything but the hdmi and vga inputs work? USB ports have power, fans power up etc etc.
