Yeah because we know that all gaming experience is determined by benchmarks, not by how much fun you have playing the game. Man when will people learn this.devil.gif

Seriously guys if they have to slow down the video by 50% in order to make the so called effect visible does it really exist? I mean a dropped frame that is never noticed, is it really dropped?

Plus the information has been put out in a manner than confuses the less tech savy. The so called frame lag is only a real issue on multi-card setups, something most people do not use. Yet the material posted have led many to believe the issue is something seen on all AMD cards in every configuration and game. That folks is irresponsible journalism.

BTW for those that did not take the time to look at the numbers in single card performance the AMD cards seem to do BETTER than nVidia by this testing methodology.

Rather than argue with the guy is there anyway to do an image quality comparison and a fp comparison on the cards?

Sure there is, and the fact that no one has published one yet should tell you all you need to know - Nvidia's paying to keep everyone silent

(just kidding)

Did I read that this guy was working for Crystal Dynamics on TR, or optimisations around that or something?

I am not willing to discount knyz is wrong. However I want to see screen shots of the image degrade caused by fp16 vs fp64. Also.. how do we not know AMD also didn't change to FP16 on their last driver improvement that significantly upped TR performance as well?

Compute precision has no impact on image quality.
Compute precision is used for GPGPU only. And almost no software uses FP64 (only some scientific stuff).

Also, knyz is the retard who posted a "modified" driver on guru3d which apparently "increased Crysis 3 performance by 100%". As you probably guessed, it didn't. He is a joke and got banned.

These "revealing" forum posts are also a joke.

Moving on, people. Don't let yourselves be fooled so easily.

The flip side of the same coin now it's a conspiracy by AMD users or something right?

No, it's just some random forum poster making baseless claims. Not everything is a conspiracy, or done at the behest of some company.
