[Tom's] A full RPG game within an Excel sheet

Cary Walkin, an unknown Canadian accountant, created this game:

Quote:
You can now play the full version of Arena.Xlsm!
Key Features

Random enemies: Over 2000 possible enemies with different AI abilities.
Random items: 39 item modifiers result in over 1000 possible item combinations and attributes.
An interesting story with 4 different endings depending on how the player has played the game.
8 boss encounters, each with their own tactics.
4 pre-programmed arenas followed by procedurally generated arenas. Each play-through has its own challenges.
31 Spells. There are many different strategies for success.
15 Unique items. Unique items have special properties and can only drop from specific enemies.
36 Achievements.
This is all in a Microsoft Excel workbook.

You read that right. It all works in a Excel sheet. Amazing.
Head over to its blog here to download this masterpiece, but beware: your jobs will be badlyimpacted by this, I know because mine did lol! biggrin.gif

Funny. Years ago when I was working in accounting I also made a spreadsheet game for myself, though nothing as complicated as this, it included random dice rolls and some basic attack/defense procedures. Made it easy to hide from the boss as I was supposed to be spreadsheeting anyway.

He was probably used to game at the office until his boss saw him and shout: "If I ever see you again not in front of a .xls file, you're screwed!", well here's the result.
