1440p would be a higher resolution meaning a better pixel density, resulting in better overall image right?
However, higher resolution also means i need more power from the GPU.
But isn't there 1440p at 120hz? or is it limited to 1080p for some reason?

There is no 120 MHz 1440P right now no

And yes if you want 60+ FPS in all games in 1440P then you need a SLI/Corssfire setup i have learned that the hard way was forced to order a second GTX 680 card

That seems like a really neat thing to do, and i would if i had the money, but i'm poor lol.
Basically i have my setup the way i want it, i just need a second monitor and i want it to be power effecient which led is ofcourse.
Going to 1440p and forcing me to Xfire will completely diminish my effecient choices that i made before including a monitor.

On the other hand you do get 40% more pixels in 1440P vs 1080P and that makes games looks so much better i would never ever go back to 1080P again

Maybe so, but even if a 1440p is superior in how the game looks, i still like 120hz. My tv is 120 hz, and when i play on that it's just superb!
Altho is make me curious, maybe i should wait a little and see if 1440p screens with 120hz are comming up any time soon. By then i might upgrade to a new graphics card that's equal or better then a titan.
That way i have best of both worlds and i won't have to upgrade my 500W power suply since multiple cards will require more and a titan might run fine.
It's my All round sytem that gets the new monitor btw smile.gif

I'll go with 120hz any day (he say's) I just got the 21:9 aspect ratio Dell monitor and rather like it ... although technically I don't even know what P it smile.gif That asus one is BAD I've heard, apparently colours are all over the place. I'd grab a 120hz monitor and see how you like / games feel and if you don't like it just return and wait for 1440p 120hz (which will be awesome).

There's nothing wrong with the Asus monitor. I have it right next to an old Acer G24 (60hz). The only differences are 1920x1080 instead of 1920x1200 and 144hz.

Though to be honest I cant tell the difference between 144 and 120 hz. But I suppose the extra 24 frames help for 3D quality

i have no interest in 3D at this time. I have a 3D tv but i dislike 3D movies, so i probably will dislike 3D gaming. Hurts my eyes and head.

you would also need a powerful single card like the TITAN or SLI/CrossFire setup to play the games with good fps on 3D

I don't do 3D gaming either but the 144hz helps a lot in FPS games. It almost feels like you upgraded your graphics card again. You'll also see a difference
in console games.
