Ive had 2 670 FTW's for almost a year now so i am bias but mine are only 2GB.

I would go with 2 670's with out a doubt but def go with the 4GB versions.

he already has one or so I thought.... so he just needs one more.
or am I mistaken.?
All SightUp needs is one more 670...Besides, 4Gb 670's will do nothing (single or 2x SLI) for him when gaming @ 1080p. This has been proven already from a few pc hardware review sites (HardOCP, Tomshardware, Xbitlabs, etc.).
2GB vs 4GB now is not a big deal as those reviews have shown but as all things do in the future, they change.
my next set of GPU's will have more than 2GB as I said earlier but that's for my Surround set-up of three monitors.
as for a single monitor 2GB is fine.

You mean the 4GB of RAM right? Not 670's in general?

I would talk you out of it, but SLI is quite nice, lol. Do it.

As of now, yes...4Gb 670's...I have not seen any reviews on 4Gb 680. Having 4Gb 670's will provide a little help (only when games are utilizing more ram; there are only a few). If you're into Skyrim mods, I've heard 4Gb is helpful (personally, I plan to find out soon with my 680 2Gb).

This is from HardOCP...

The fact is, the performance isn't high enough with a GTX 670 GPU to allow the advantage of 4GB of memory at 1080p or 2560x1600. When we also consider the ability to run NV Surround resolutions off of one video card, the GeForce GTX 670 GPU itself again is not powerful enough to benefit from the 4GB.

This is from Xbitlabs...
Quote:
In the rest of our games we could hardly see any difference between GeForce GTX 670s with 2 and 4 GB of memory in 3240x1920 and no difference at all in 2560x1440. So, purchasing a 4GB card wouldn't be worth the investment unless you've got a triple-monitor configuration

Source

If you're gaming with 3 displays @ 1440p or 1600p, using 2x SLI then you'll probably be able to take advantage of the 4Gb but I have not seen any test reviews to confirm this.

Going back to what I had stated earlier...buy another 670...You'll still enjoy it thumb.gif

If you want to be talked out of it, then you really don't seem motivated enough to do it. Just don't do it if so.
Do you really need the extra performance and willing to pay for it? Yes? Then go for another 670, yours is already a 4GB one which means it's not a bad idea.
You can just turn down a few settings, especially AA, and you'll probably enjoy 120 FPS stable even with a single card. OC it too.
Not bad
