Note also that if you're not too keen on overclocking in general, a locked i5 is going to perform about as well as an overclocked AMD chip for gaming, though somewhat less well for things like video encoding or scientific research applications (heavily multithreaded stuff). The corollary being if you don't plan to overclock much, a locked i5 will be superior to an AMD CPU for gaming, and will (after figuring mobo) cost about the same or only a bit more.
Check the budget of what you're planning to buy vs an i5-3470 & the dirt-cheapest B75 motherboard available in your area.
Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz (3.6GHz Turbo) 6MB BOX
Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4096MB DDR3 1600Mhz CAS9 1.5V
Asrock B75 Pro3 Intel B75 SK1155
It would be less 1€
i want to overclock it when i get the aftermarket cooler and a new psu and in 3/4 months getting a new graphics card too.

For this build:
Asus M5A99X Evo 2.0 or Gigabyte 990FX-UD3 Rev 1.1 - Decent budget boards for overclocking
Get a good Air Cooler
Overclock to 4.4-4.6Ghz
i want to OC since i read they are very good at it, i'll check those boards.
Ty for the opinion guys Edited by Kedas - 3/28/13 at 8:35am
