AM2 Gaming Build - Need Feedback - Page 4

not saying he should buy my current rig but if you are looing to up grade I would go with the bones of something like mine. get a e6400 and a good mobo some decent ram and run the rest of your on it for now. then when you get more cash upgrade the rest. I just do see any reason to spend cash on an up grade that will really lag on dx10 games... I had a 4200 with 7800gtx's in sli on an an8 and I was starting to feel it's age.

he's not upgrading, he's buying a new computer, he also wants to stick with AMD/nVIDIA so again, what you said is fairly irrelevant. I take it you havent read the whole thread, sorry.

He wants to build a gaming rig for less than $1500 so stop saying 'buy the best, i've got the best, everyone should buy the best'

we dotn all NEED 150FPS in our games, this guy, like me, is in a budget, so careful attention needs to be paid to get the most out of your money.

Unfortunately that means avoiding Core 2 Duo, because they ARE more expensive.

if you are not including a monitor in the $1500 then you can but together a really nice C2D system for $1500 and if your happy with some of the stuuf you have i.e. case, HD's cd drives then you can make a really nice system but if you want to get everything new then $1500 would just put you into a PC that will be outdated pretty fast.

Have you tought of waiting for 4x4?
Maybe when it arrives you will be able to afford them?
ANd the performance difrence against intel wouldn't be has big has it is now.

sorry, i haven't been on for a while, i've been working my ass off so i can get the money a.s.a.p. and now i got it so i'm going to buy soon.

thanks a lot for all the help graigchq, really appreciated.

as for this money thing, i do not need a monitor or anything like that, strictly rig. i need new cd drives and such as well, seeing how i only have a crappy plextor cd only drive...no dvd

so i just want to make one last check that everything is good, all parts will run together and everything will be smooth before i go and buy.

so i switched the orig post and added the m2n32-sli you guys suggested.
i just ask if someone could one make one last check to make sure that would be great.

keep in mind im using/going to the following stores/sites:
www.canadacomputers.com
www.thecomputeredge.com
www.tigerdirect.ca

thanks

Replace the CNPS9500 or get this Tuniq Tower at NCIX.com(I know it wasn't listed on your choice of sites but its the only place that says they carry them). http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...acture=Sunbeam

They are out of stock at the moment but I'd get that. It's cheaper than that CNPS9500 you're looking to get and it cools better. Win-Win!

i have absolutely no intent to play dx10 games, nor anygames besides what i play now. i play cs 1.6, and i'm moving to source, and i want something to run it well so i have no performance lag. i also would like a decent build so it will last a while. i dont want to go big, because i have no need for it, but i dont want to go dirt cheap because i want it to last, along with some cheap upgradability in the future.

also, i am posting on the AMD build logs because i want amd, not intel.
sorry if i seem to be ripping on you, im just trying to explain.
