I'm in a similar situation, although I am happy with my card.

AMD's reponse:
Quote:
Hi,

Unfortunately, all of our game codes have already been assigned to the participating vendors and we do not possess any extra game codes.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.
Regards,
AMD Support

Retailers response (translate from dutch):
Quote:
Hello

Thanks for your message. We indeed took part in this promotion.
Unfortunately this was a 'while stocks last' promotion and we cannot get new vouchers from AMD.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Now I am wondering, does AMD add a premium price onto their cards for these games? Did I pay that premium (210 euroes) and not receive the benefits?

I am happy with my card, but think the promotion was poorly organized.

This. GK110 wasn't ready until November when they released Tesla. It's just Nvidia "fan"tasy to suggest that GK110 could have ever been the 680. If anything it would have had to be GK100 which Nvidia abandoned early on (probably due to the same issues GF100 had)...

First they annouce tesla cards. Then all the chips that didint pass the tdp for the tesla they make them titans. Saying that they didint release gk110 because tahiti wasnt that good is a lie. They released their mid range chip oced to the moon because their big chip wasnt ready

Unless you get your choice of game(s) that will be included with your new video card purchase (say from a list of about 10), I would much rather just have the cost of my video card REDUCED by the average cost of the game.

Considering the cards are already slightly better in terms of performance for the buck than their NVIDIA counterparts, I don't see this happening. Adding games just makes the deal a whooole lot sweeter.

Love AMD... got my first 7950 3GB with the first 3 game bundle and depending on the games they come up with free I might get a second 7950 3GB if I have the cash.

This bundles are great for people getting into PC gaming and building their PCs. They build their PC, buy a video card with great games.

My experience has been pretty uniform across all my setups. With some slight microstutter issues on both dual card setups. Nothing a little tweaking/better drivers doesnt fix.

Exactly. While I do notice a bit of stuttering, it's the same stuttering I've noticed on every GPU I've owned back to my original Tseng Labs in my Cyrix 6x86 rig., nVidia stepped it up with Kepler but it's certainly not unplayable or unusable.

Most likely the game he does want is more than enough to make it worth his while already. so it'd only be better if it was something awesome like HL3 or the like.

Funny, I'm not noticing much, if any microstutter on my HD7950. That whole issue is being massively overstated, there's an issue and AMD has more stutter than nVidia..but the cards are still perfectly fine and fluid for most people, otherwise the series wouldn't be popular at all.

Didn't nVidia have some yield issues at launch with 28nm already? Ignoring the fact it'd have been GK100 and not GK110, if nVidia had launched that I'd imagine it'd be another Fermi, slightly faster for a much higher heat output and power consumption, plus we'd have probably had more than a few shortages. nVidia will likely do the same thing for Maxwell, I reckon...Overclock the GM104 card then later release a GM110 based card, while leaving GM100 for internal use only to help improve GM110. (Remember how GF100, while fast, was a bit of a mess? GF110 was a massive improvement, you can bet nVidia did something similar internally with GK100/GK110)

I'm probably going to do the same, it's really between going to Haswell (I got this CPU/Motherboard for free, so I'm not worried about spending money for a small upgrade) or getting a new motherboard and second HD7950 for me, if this bundle is good I'm going for the second card.

it doesnt matter if its cheap, its rubbish and certainly not whining about something small.

i was only forced to buy this junk when nvidia wouldnt play ball on my GTX570 and GTX670 and i'd definately throw it away after im done with it or it cooks itself. sure its one of the best bang for buck card but its seriously flawed in the cooling department. grindy fans that is loud and it doesnt seemed to expel heat anywhere. the fan doesnt push air out of the case nor does it really fill the case with hot air but what it does is heat itself up and conduct heat to the case itself and heating it to around 70c

oh lets not get started on how rubbish ATI drivers are for constantly crashing, blue screening etc.

as for the games bundle AMD is doing it wrong with the retailers holding on to the vouchers where they outright refuse them to you (pocketing them for themselves?). AMD should have ether bundled codes in the sealed box or used serial numbers to enter into their website for the codes. The thing is the retailers here are even hiding the fact that they are having this promotion that unless you confirm with them that they are doing the promotion for that specific card you arnt gonna get any coupons for it. ask after purchase and they deny participating

I'm sure i'm not the only one who missed out on the entitled games

tahiti on the cheap...... that doesnt have all the tahiti goodness and it wasnt exactly cheap in australia where you pay alot more then the rest of the world. SPs, memory, bandwidth etc are all cut down to pitcairn sized that im probly better off with a cooler and less power hungry non myst

ether way the bundle is a great idea but poorly executed

Ha, you may be on to something. A retailer near me had a box full of of the reloaded cards, all I had to do was register an email. Never asked for a serial or proof of purchase at all biggrin.gif

I certainly hope not, at least not at the current price points. I miss the Fermi days frown.gif
