Has anyone seen a 1200 with a modded top?

I have this Antec 1200 that is begging for some work.Since in the past this was a very popular case to mod I ask if anyone can remember a modded top? I was thinking a total top replacement made from 1/2" acrylic with a push/pull 360 or 480 radiator and a nice store bought grill (there are some things you just buy). I want to raise the top a bit to allow for mounting the motherboard all the way to the top and put another push/pull radiator setup on the bottom. I ask if anyone can remember someone changing out the top on an 1200?

Can't say I have seen it!

And if you decide to go through with it, a lot of work is ahead of you! After owning a 1200 my self, it is not exactly what I would call mod friendly.
But moding so you can get the rad in front, is doable and not that much of work as it would be with putting it on top.
I sold my 1200 for this very reason that it was not mod friendly and no space at the top for rads!

And if I don't remember wrong, the top of the 1200 is mostly plastic, so you would perhaps need to make your own custom top just to make it happen!

Good luck though wink.gif

I am kind of stuck with what I have but I do enjoy case modding. The big negative thing about the 1200 (at least to me) is that it is so narrow. The 1200 is clearly dated,so many cases from other manufactures. At one time not so long ago we accepted the 1200 and all its shortcommings. The top is an odd shape and it does not add to the case.I will give this mod a try and I have high hopes it turns out good.
