I recently bought a Dell U3014 Monitor smile.gif which has a resolution of 2560x1600. What I wanted to know is should i go for a Nvidia Titan Or 2x Nvidia 4GB GTX 680's in Sli ? I am from the UK and price wise there is not a big difference the 4GB GTX 680's will cost a little more but not by much. I have read reviews online and it's obvious that the 680's in SLi have higher frame rates in some games it's high in some it's pretty close just depends on the game. However I have a concern for the 680's as well and that is that I have also read online that it's better to go for 1 graphics card instead of 2<<< less problems. But I don't know how true that is with all these latest drivers coming out?

Vote for the Titan, better tech. and for sure the driver will increace the performance of the card in future, like the gtx 600 series, I have see alot been improved with the gtx 600 will be the same on gtx titan.

I too would go Titan. The potential issues with SLI isn't worth it.

Go with the fastest single card solution and hey, if you want to, you could SLI it in the future.

I agree with the rest. Less heat, driver/resolution issues, better tech, up-to-date tech and many more factors. Also, if you plan to go above 1080p, maybe surround, the TITAN is better suited to higher resolutions.. (more VRAM)

Got a single Titan + 3930k on 2560 x 1440P on my main rig, runs everything very well. BF3 sits around 100fps+ with everything turned up. Bioshock Infinite 'Ultra' preset. The Titan is very capable, the only games I've had to drop settings on is Tomb Raider and Crysis 3, lowered a few settings to the one below ultra, and games look and run amazing. Dual cards will give higher max fps but not as high min fps in a lot fo cases alos single GPU is trouble free..

I would get 2x hd7970ghz edition insted, just my personal choice,if computing performence matters to you then hd7970ghz is a better deal.
Multi gpu setup is no more a pain like the past, games are nicely using multi gpus.
Driver support has improved a lot,2x hd7970ghz cf is cheaper than both titan or gtx680 4gb,for that resolution 3gb vrm is pretty good.
Well I don't wanna debate but hd7970ghz is more powerful than gtx680 4gb (do consider computing performence too).

One card is better then two cards for sure. Less problems in games. Plus with a titan less heat less power less noise etc. And down the road if you want pick up another one and it will be amazing smile.gif

Leave alone the fact what he will do in future,I agree titan is an exceelent card but its price is not good at all, currently he can pair 2x hd7970ghz for less and would get quite better gaming performence over a single titan.
I'm repating again, multi gpu isnt a hassle anymore,if you guys talk about microshuttering that can be fixed with just a simple fix,see I don't wanna debate,I just gave my opinion, the face is 2x hd7970ghz costs less and gives quite better performence over single titan,I'm talking from raw gaming performence point of view.

To me what matters is raw gaming performence,it always gets more preference than power consumption atleast to me,at this point 2x hd7970ghz seems much better to me over a single titan from raw gaming performence point of view thus I'll personally stick to hd7970ghz,I don't know why most people in ocn talks about spending more, the simple thing is 2x hd7970ghz will be better currently over a single titan and the op won't have to think about spending in recent future.
