A single Titan does not make any sense at $1000. If money is not a constraint, then get two Titans. If money/budget is a consideration, then some others have outlined options based on their respective experience.

Oh and please stop bragging about nvidia sli, most guys will agree in current generation both are head to head in terms of scaling, because of this nonsense comments I had to repeat same words.

Neck and neck in scaling, nowhere near neck and neck in frame latency, delivery and smooth gaming tongue.gif

^You are amongst the few guys in this this thread who is speaking practical things, well brother I hope you'll also agree that everyone is forgetting raw gaming performence and speaking other things like spend double and get another titan or single titan bla bla bla.

Better you dont make it a amd vs nvidia war,I love both brands.
Its about whats the best available under your budget.
Frame latency wise gtx660ti wins against hd7950 boost but you can see majority of ocn users lean towards hd7950 boost until and unless you are getting smooth gaming performence there is no need to worry about, from most reviews I have seen hd7970ghz beats gtx680 with both cards having new drivers installed but lets keep this debate aside and I have already suggested my opinion.

SLI 680s will give better performance. But you probably wont notice anyways. Titans are overpriced.

I would go with 3x7950s.... rolleyes.gif
better performance than SLI 680s and a Titan.

Guys, please don't turn this into another AMD vs Nvidia thread, there's been enough of that recently. The OP wants Nvidia so suggest to him which Nvidia setup would be best.
Personally, I'd get the Titan. The performance is very similar to two 680s but you will have less SLI issues, smoother gameplay, less heat, less power consumption and it will perform better at higher resolutions. Always get the single card option IMO.

lol, this was a 680 vs Titan thread, you're the one that decided to throw in team red?

Anyway, back on topic: OP: I would consider the Titan, you have the option to SLI down the road. Nvidia have already stated that the Titan will not be eclipsed by the 7xx series, and the 7xx series will not be until around Q1 next year. The only game I have issues with on max settings is Crysis 3, everything else runs like this:

BioShock Infinite, Ultra, 2560x1440:

And single card frame rates are an order of magnitude smoother than either SLI or Crossfire smile.gif

Absolutely with ya on this thumb.gif Now if the Titan was priced @ $700 / $750, I would then recommend the Titan.

The Titan gets my vote!
Around 20% slower performance then GTX 680 SLi but that's a single card. And also, every single review is testing the card at 876mhz core clock which is the stock one. With some playing, you can boost it up to 1100-1200mhz depending on your card (if you get a good one) because of which the Titan,a single GPU,will have the same FPS as the 7970 Ghz and the GTX 680 Sli,without the multi-GPU problems.
