Trying to overclock my 1090T more, need advice :)

Thread Starter
Hello guys !

First time poster here !

So recently I have bought a H80i for my 1090t to overclock it.

Those are the results I was able to achieve witch seems stable using Intel burn test.

If I try to go under 1.5 volt I got a Blue screen.

My mobo is a M4A87TD from Asus and my rams are 1600 ripjaw g.skills 9-9-9-24 1.5v

The temperature on core never goes over 47 celcius while the CPU temp never goes over 51 celcius

So do you guys think that if I go for a multi only over FSB then i'll be able to run at lower voltage/temp ? Will it hurt gaming performance ?
Do you guys think I could maybe get around 4.2 ghz if so then how ?

If I use a multi only combo my mobo option on the HT block it at like 2600 mhz

Isn't 1.5v for 4 ghz a little bit high ?

Thank you and sorry for typos smile.gif

My 1090t handled 4.2 until I upped the voltage, which killed my board. SO make sure your mobo can handle the OC

while i never tried pushing my cpu (3.888 passed 24 hour prime and 6 hours of occt), i was doing 4.0ghz with my voltage at 1.38 but the noise got to me so i didn't bother (i stopped it at about the 2 hour mark in prime). Looking at yours though, that is a crazy amount of voltage IMHO. I don't think i would run my system with that much voltage on a 24/7 system though, your temps looks good. You couldn't try getting your cpu/nb a bit higher? Personally, i always think that you might be better off lowering your cpu speed for a higher cpu/nb speed.
