in-store Microcenter is a good deal but if buying on-line and shipping there are other legit and safe options besides Newegg.

but I would pay around 340 for two 650ti boost's and around 400 for a gtx 670 and around 500 for a gtx 680

The 650ti is somewhere in the middle in performance, so doesnt this make it the best value for the money vs preformace

Also I dont want to start a war in this thread about whether single gpus beat sli just stop about that topic I would like to focus on this case

I WILL MOST LIKELY BE UPGRADING TO NEXT GEN OF CARDS GTX 700 but I was wondering about this topic

rep to those who helped

I completely agree! In my case, i purchased a 670 myself, costing about $450 last summer. Now, for the same price, i could get 660s in SLI with far better performance (as far as i could tell). This is making me question purchasing x70-x80 cards in the future, as I will never SLI them and spend 800-1000 on GPUs. Id rather buy a single 770 or something in the future then to buy another 670.
I say go with what card you find acceptable performance for 1080p on a single card (for me, that is the 660) and then SLI it for better performance than a 680.

Yeah I agree on the two 660ti but for the 670 I was looking at cards with good coolers like msi twin frozers because i hate the stock coolers

But I will be buying bioshock infinite and that is what I am most worried about, if my 560 can handle it .

Sounds good, lol.

Haters gonna hate. =p

I went and bought a 2nd used 560ti for 100$ rather than upgrading to a newer card. Upped my frame rates by 30-40% on average in the games I play. I saw fps hit over 100 for the first time in Guild Wars 2.

I can understand people's reasoning I have just never had it in me to shell out 500-1000$ for a single card but I'm not a huge gamer either.

I doubt you would have any problems with BI, but you may not be able to run EVERYTHING on max.

Here is a good look at the performance of the 650 ti sli. Looks like it outperforms both the 680 and 590 (most of the time). The review also has a 'performance per dollar' comparison and the sli setup is impressive.
