Didn't see a thread related to this, so I'd thought I'd start one wink.gif (if it already exists, then please ignore)

Just got my new VAIO-S13P in. Lots of pics for comparison (sorry for the overload)

Core-i7 3520M
1600x900
12GB ram
512GB Crucial M4
Blu-ray burner
Extra 4400mA sheet battery.
Carbon Fiber Gun Metal colour.
Win 7 ultimate (came with win 8 pro)

Comparison with my old vaio-z (2009) with the sheet battery on. Without the sheet, looks very thin in comparison =)

Sorry for the crap pic taken on an Xperia T

Created with GIMP

The Specs are truly low:

Packard Bell Hera HG1

CPU:dual core T1600 @ 1.6 ghz
GPU: Intel GM45 (think that means HD2000 not sure if its even that?)
Ram: 2GB
O/S: Linux Mint 14 Nadia Cinnamon , with Cairo Dock
Screen: 15.4 " 16:10 1280 x 800
HDD: Hitachi 160GB
DVD / RW

Couple of USB 2.0's and a card reader slot. No web cam or anything decent like Spdif

I got this for free (not like id buy something like this normally !). It was being used by my brother in law who was severely disabled at the time (much like the laptop) he unfortunately died of motor neuron disease about two years ago.

I got rid of windows vista, gave it a scrub up, cleaned the fans (dropped temps by 15deg !) and its been serving me well for night time browsing and for when im eating lunch in the kitchen. I must admit its not too bad running linux, it cant really handle video over 720p but its quiet enough. I have managed to play open arena on it and thats not on max settings redface.gif the screen is appallingly low contrast with lots of backlight glow as you would expect and its glossy but the colours are quite nice at times

The battery went recently so the sleep function of linux (which is ace i might add) now doesn't work.

Still it was free, I have to keep it going as long as possible in some ways just for posterity's sake.

The most positive thing i can say about it is that in its own way its got me back out of the man cave and wanting a powerful laptop DTR

Asus G75VX I just picked up friday. Do a fair amount of travel so wanted something I could take with me. I liked that it didn't come with the normal bloatware store bought computers normally have.

i7-3630QM, Nvidia GTX670MX. Plan to add a ssd. Spent some time trying to give audio drivers to work to fix the sound only coming from left side. Found the drivers for a G75VW do not work and Asus main site didn't list the G75VX. Had to find them from the ROG Asus site. Now works like champ and with few games I have tried works rather smoothly.

Here's my Asus G74SX. It's currently subbing in for my desktop till I get a chance to move it to my new place.

This thread is still short on images. Here are my 2 other laptops and my netbook (hopefully it is laptop enough for this thread).
Top one is Toshiba Satellite U300. It's running a web server. Bottom one is a Toshiba Satellite P200. It's currently running a Minecraft server.

Netbook is a Samsung NF210. It mostly sits around collecting dust these days.
