Made enough from RMAH in the 1st few weeks it was out to cover the cost of the game and all the other games I bought last year so I can't be too mad at it.

Well... apparently the dev team suddenly decided to care about quality and felt it wasn't good enough. In an attempt to compensate, they gave us set location "brawling" that is a completely gimped version of D2 dueling. I officially quit the game after that PTR. I think it was PTR 107? According to Bliz, it is still "in the works" and we will eventually get it. Man, when a company renown for exaggerating the word "soon" I shudder to think how long "eventually" is.

Anyways Blizzard be quick and make Diablo 4 now... No AH, No gear dependant characters, No stupid randomization in gear, a decent chat channel, Public games with names, Bigger party size, Teleport, AOE spells that don't need to be aimed precisely at the enemy.

And don't balance the crap out of every character..... D3 is pretty boring since it doesn't really matter which character you make they are all pretty much equal.

Don't expect DIV anytime in the next 10 years.

That is actually my favorite song of all time, discovered it in 10th grade and I have never once gotten sick of it. Awesome guitar rifs etc.

Wow it still doesn't have real PvP? What a mess. Its almost been a year since it came out and back then they were saying PvP was being worked on still and was their #1 priority after they fixed all the server issues etc. Sigh. Never thought Blizzard would fail this hard.

Hello my friend, stay awhile, and listen!
As others have already stated, the AH was a huge mistake. What Blizzard really missed was the feeling of D1&D2. When D2 was released, the game was so amazing that almost nobody complained about the Save&Exit system. Why? Because nobody cared about it. Going back to Hell to crash the hordes of Demons once more? Bring it on! Skill tree to last for a lifetime while trying all combinations with all characters (Impossible) That's what most players thought. AH=Magic lost.
D1? Best atmosphere in a game ever (IMHO)! No AH there, just Griswold the Thief. And Deckard the Expensive Cain. Nobody cared. Why? Immersion.
What do these titles have in plenty, D3, instead of combining them, goes to a logic that is summed up in this.
Why bother spending hours to find a good item? Have an AH and you'll be able to finish D3 in no time. To force you to it,item drop rates and abilities are not even remotely fair. So,good gamers, embrace the AH. It is the solution!(aka let's milk the cow, which is the only reason D3 was released I think).
I could go on for hours, but others have already shared most of the things I have in my mind,so it's pointless to repeat them.
Just a final thought. Ever since EA bought Blizzard, something has changed, and not in a good way. Cheers.

It's the same thing with Command and Conquer. After Westwood was acquired by another company (EA in this case), the quality of the games went down. EA did amazing on CnC Generals, I still spend hours playing that game. However, they failed to bring the Tiberian Sun feel in CnC 3, and CnC 4 was just a total flop.

I was excited about Generals 2... but it looks too futurist now!! I miss normal helicopters!! Not some Fallout/Crysis style Vertibird!!!

You do realize that baal runs and the such came years after launch...One thing that D2 had that D3 doesn't is Time. D2 had years to mature into it's classic forms (1.09 and of course 1.10+).Uber tristram came FIVE years after launch-you do understand what that means. Lots of things got ironed out eventually. But one thing that was never fixed (because it was botched from start) was its economy. It was crap, broken beyond repair. Duped sojs made blizzard implement diablo clone and warden ,dupe runes made the game trivial (everyone and their dog were running hoto/enigma/botd/grief etc). During the period of the lag duping method you couldn't even play with those 1400 latencies because of dupers crashing servers. In that sense, D3 is learning from its mistakes much faster and is in a pretty good state atm. The problem is that the market moves much faster these days and blizz needs to up their game and start throwing content more frequently.

Baal and Cow runs are just some of my memories. I remember doing Andy and Meph runs before that as well as many other different things. Yes D2 had years to mature. Whoopy freaking deal and really, it's a lousy as hell argument. That does not mean D3 should be afforded the same time frame. The dev team had a template to work with and they chose to trash the vast majority of it instead of building upon what was already there. That in itself is the biggest problem with D3 from the get go. As far as dupers go? Who cares? What people did in their games had little bearing for me and my friends. You know why? No AH. The economy was PURELY UNDERGROUND or voluntary trades between players. With a legitimized AH as PART OF THE GAME, Blizzard is now forced to consider it for whatever changes to loot they make. So no, I don't accept that argument at all. In fact I spit on that dumb, worthless excuse for D3's dev team. Also, no... they do not learn fast enough. If they did, why is itemization and really the entire loot system still complete crap? Why is the AH still there? Why is there still no dueling? D3's dev team hasn't learned jack crap... at all.

I never meant D3 "deserved" the same time as D2. The time each game gets depends on its own quality plus the environment, including competition- If D3 expires sooner so be it. And I do agree that d3 devs should have considered the evolution of D2 instead of starting from scratch almost. But you know what? D3 at launch (minus those crap connection errors because blizz didn't want to invest into infrastructure) was extremely similar to D2 at launch...The itemization was all over the place then...The whole game was bugged for years ,in items and skills (burizons for example). Also D2 economy was not "purely underground" . There was a trade window you know. It was expected that you would trade-it just was primitive as a design. You don't realise that during the dupe lag method if you played online, on your own, in your very own game, you'd still crash because some lowlife somewhere in the same server was duping using the lag exploit.

Right now ,D3 difficulty is greatly toned down. nowhere near to what it was before june. You can start it and finish it "untwinked" as it was the D2 terminology, using only the items you find in game as you progress. In that sense AH is not necessary. It was back in the beggining when the game was a huge gear check ,and yes it was a bad design. It also isn't relevant any more, the AH is there ,you can take it or leave, just as trade option was during D2. Nothing more, nothing less. And btw, you can duel since february, it is called brawling.
