Just thought I'd drop by and say "don't get the HP ZR2740w", even if you weren't even considering it. I've had SIX of them (bought 2, rest were warranty replacements), one arrived physically broken, one had a very "epileptic" lowest pixel row, and the rest have just had incredibly inconsistent colour temperature across the screen. The left side is cold, right side is warm, and two otherwise identical displays, the ones I currently have, are a complete mismatch. They also lack an OSD so you can't adjust anything aside from brightness.

Oh, and at the office I have two ZR2240w (21"), the other one is significantly "warmer" than the other so light colours get a slight yellowy tint. Ridiculous for "professional displays".

I've seen alot of less than enthusiastic reviews of that monitor. But, for different reasons that you've stated. Thanks for the warning. I'll definitely stay away from the HP

Now it's really starting to sound like my kind of monitor.

Budget: Dell U2713HM

Best: Viewsonic VP2770

I've owned the: Asus PB278Q, CrossOver 27Q LED-P, CrossOver 2720MDP Gold, Dell U2713H, Samsung S27A850D and the Viewsonic VP2770 and the Viewsonic has the best out of the box colors (followed closely by the Asus), no LED PWM dimming, less ghosting and input lag than all except the CrossOver's and 4x USB ports.

There is actually a big difference in terms of ghosting between the Viewsonic+CrossOver 2720MDP and the rest, a difference which one can not discern by only looking at the car from PixerPerAn.

All monitors have Light Bleed to some extent. So I'm not worried about it. Turning down the brightness always works for me. wink.gif
