If you could even get the organism to survive long enough to even get to your gut, due to stomach and upper intestinal acidity, it would require an insane number of these bacteria to fully displace your ~100 trillion intestinal organisms. And unless you consume an obscene amount of caffeine, these bacteria probably wouldn't have a competitive advantage anyways.

We use P. putida at my work, for chemical bio-treatment. It comes as no surprise that it can use caffeine as an energy source, we use it to break more complex chemicals all day every day. Very useful bug indeed.
