New mouse for FPS gaming?

Thread Starter
When I built my computer last year, I didn't put a lot of thought into a mouse and I ended up with THIS. I haven't noticed any problems with it, but I wonder what I am missing out on. I play a lot of BF3 and some COD as well as Planetside 2. Am I missing out on something by having this cheaper mouse? If so, what would you recommend in the $50-100 range? I also play some Diablo 3 and will play other action RPG's in the future.

Will I really see any difference with a more expensive mouse? The M6800 I have gets really good reviews on Newegg.

Let me know.

Thanks.

I personally use a RAT3. It is awesome and works real well for me.

I am a HUGE fan of the Razer Deathadder, I had my first one for 3 1/2 years before it gave out to my excessive gaming. I have my second one now and have no plans to change to another mouse.

1600 dpi suggests an A3060, which is a nice but kinda old sensor. Only thing it really does wrong is its angle snapping. Of course, this assumes a good implementation.

I don't know, you own it, you tell us?
You'd be surprised to know that higher price range usually means worse sensor/firmware combination.

You need to do the usual questionnaire if you want some proper answers:

1. What's your grip style?
2. What's your sensitivity?
4. Do you want additional buttons?
6. Other relevant information:

Personally I would steer clear from Gigabyte, I've owned two and they don't come close in terms of performance with regularly recommended "fps mice"

If it suits your hand and you don't have any problems with the sensor... No need to change just for the sake of it.

A3080. A3060 SROM is limited to 800 DPI ^^

Not either of those though. Gigabyte website claims 3000 FPS. Likely a low end Pixart model.

Deathadder 2013 is my personal favorite. I like the bigger feel of the Deathadder over the RAT series and it'll probably be more like the mouse you currently have but actually... you know?... good.
Got all the bells and whistles you want for the price of a Xbox Controller more or less. You can also get the 2012 ed if you want blue LED's since they're almost the same.

Thanks.

1. I have a palm style grip.
2. I can't play games on a high sensitivity. On BF3, the mouse sensitivity is about 5 or so clicks from the slowest setting. I find it very hard to aim if it is any faster.
4. I would like to have a couple of buttons on the side for my knife and grenade. I use a 5 button right now and don't think I need any more then that.
6. I am just looking for a good mouse that is accurate. I play on 800 dpi, and I find it very hard to play on the 1600 dpi. I can't imagine how someone could play on anything higher then that. Almost makes me think I am missing something because some of the games I own have the ability to make the the pointer move so fast that I don't even understand how it could be possible to play on such high settings.

I'm not sure why you numbered your questions like you did and I'm really not sure I want to take advice from someone who can't count.

EDIT: After some research, I am leaning toward the Logitech G500. Do people actually play at 5700 dpi? How? Blows my mind.
