The FX 8xxx series are real 8 cores, Sorry but they are.

They maybe what you call "True" cores but they are no where near efficient as intel cores, when one core has to wait for another to finish. Some will argue that they are not because of this and state 2 cores will equal to actually 1.5 "actual" cores.

The Bulldozer concept is based on a 2-core design that shares latency-tolerant functionality, smoothes bursty/inefficient usage and provides dynamic resource allocation between threads. Each core has its own 16KB L1 cache with a 1MB L2 cache, while the L3 cache is shared. The other units are now effectively shared between two cores and include: Fetch, Decode, Floating-point pipelines, and the L2 cache.

Even if intel is better than AMD or not does it justify relentless hating on AMD rigs? Synthetic benchmarks make AMD looks pathetic a lot of times (atleast the ones intel owners show me, coinsidence i think not) But does AMD really make everyday PC use horrible? I run every game to date at reasonable FPS on max settings. Crysis 3 being an exception ofcourse.

A lot of times it's some one asking advice that starts the fanboy war. The problem with it is that in most cases the Intel chip will do the job a little bit better.
Which in turn will make the AMD fanboy's a little butt hurt because the proof is presented.

Amd is a great chip if your on a tighter budget or doing very heavy threaded programing. Well because that's what there designed for "more cores".
The main reason I switch to Intel is because the my 1090t at the time could out perform bulldozer. At the time I was a regular member over at the AMD processor forums and I can tell you the disappointment
over bulldozer was a breeding ground for Intel fanboy's. Pretty much everyone there ended up switching.

There is nothing wrong with the new amd chips as it can handle and even compete with Intel in most cases but one. "Single threaded programs" If amd can fix that then the amd intel race would be much closer.

Intel has raised IPC a lot while AMD hasn't thanks to the major failures of BD. PD improved significantly and not "just merely better"
At least with 8 cores they stood up again against the 3570k while being cheaper not considering for motherboard costs

EDIT: I have and use both Intel and AMD, Nivida and ATI/AMD.
That's because AMD desktop procs are reporting different values in temps compared to intel procs

Didn't read like that for me.
I love my 1055t at 3.2 GHz at 1.5v (lol dat voltage.)
It hasn't flinched at anything I've thrown at it, especially paired with two 5970's. But my god the heat.
Unfortunately I'm back to a 5770 at the moment, hopefully swapping out for a pair of 7970's later this year.
All in all, I will definitely be buying AMD again. Intel can eff off with their pricing.
Can't wait for a 5GHz Octacore 8350 in my system biggrin.gif (wallet, y u so empty)

Intel CPUs perform better in single thread performance, which is most used in applications/games. As of why, one of the reasons is that Intel Ivy Bridge uses 22 nm die shrink based on tri-gate transistors, other is that Vishera L1 Instruction and L2 caches are shared per 2 cores (every module has its own caches) which cripple performance. In multithreaded applications AMD could perform equal even better on some rare ocasions compared to Intel. If you calculate in percentage all applications/games which benefit from the performace boost of FX-8350 to ones that do not, how big it will be ? Probably not so big, well this is why people prefer Intel than AMD. Real life performance is important to majority of the PC users.

Most of my friends have AMD systems I see more AMD hate on this forum than in everyday goings on....
