Why do you guys have to pop out in every thread?

We are discussing how deep the Intel bias goes, and we do not care about your virtually larger epeen because your processor is faster than ours.

Especially when in countries like mine you have to shell 50€ more to get a processor that is virtually as fast in games, and much slower in multithreaded workloads.

'Murica is the paradise of computer aficionados, but most of the planet is close to 2X as expensive.

Thread Starter
For my purposes, AMD's 8 core cpu works extremely well, if not on par with Ivy Bridge cpus. Being over clocked to 5+ Ghz, it overtakes stock Ivy Bridge CPU's easily.
The " 8 core" aspect is mostly a gimmick in my opinion, as it is really 4x2 cores (2 "cores" are connected, with 4 connections = "8 cores"), so I think 4 core I7's Hyperthreading results in a pretty similar outcome of 8 Single Thread cores vs 4 core HT. I don't have the sources to say that reliably though.

But anyway, when it comes to gaming, I really don't think it matters which brand of CPU you pick. As most games are extremely GPU dependent, the CPU choice between a 3770k and a FX8350 only results in a miniscule fps difference in favor of the Intel cpu.

Exactly why I'll most likely be going for an 8350 next time.
You can get tons of performance for your money when OC to 5GHz+

lol ignoramus. I have nothing against AMD, hell, look at my video card and some of the rep I've given in regards to the 7-series of video cards. But there is no doubting that investing in a FX series chip is questionable at best.

AMD lovers get shafted here though. For the record, the FX8350 here costs extra 20$* compared to a 3570k
DA HELL DISTRIBUTORS BIAS?! And to think the shop i'm referencing my prices from has a huge AMD logo outside and gives you AMD plastic bags whatever you buy

Take both flagships in the reference retailer here.

FX8350 -> 180€
FX-8320-> 150€

3770K -> 289€
3570K -> 219€

That is what I mean. There is a 40€ difference at the smallest, that you can invest towards a much better GPU that will mean much higher framerates than getting a processor that will give you a 5-7% edge at most.
