I had a free morning today. Took about 4 hours organizing wires better got done attempted to boot, nothing. No beep, its almost as if the computer is off. I have an ASRock Z77 extreme4, I have tested a different psu and unplugged pci slots but no luck. Just wondering if anyone has any other ideas before I send in on my insurance?

Sounds more like a power supply failure to me. Have you attempted to clear your CMOS?

So when you press the power button, nothing happens? Are the wires in the front panel correctly connected? Had a friend a friend the other with the same behaviour, turns out he was hiding from me that had fiddled with the cables in the front panel, i had to rough him up a bit, then fixed it thumb.gif

hahacheck all yoru cables, be sure you didn't miss plugging any in. Try jumping the pins for power instead of using the front panel power button and then try booting without any memory and see if you get a beep code.

You do have a little speaker on it right?

The mobo has an onboard power button. And I have tried pressing the clear cmos, as well as checking both main power connectors. Did smack the ram pulling wires through...

I don't know if this help but, once when I was overclocking I set the voltage too high and my motherboard turned off. I though I had killed the system because it wouldn't turn back on. So I left it off for about 30 mins and it then it turned on when I pushed the power button. I don't know how that could possibly help you, but that is just something that happened to me before. Pertaining to your current situation, I believe it may either be an overlooked cord that hasn't been plugged in (re-check your cables) or it could possibly be a failed PSU (dubious though). If you system was running fine before the cable management I see no reason for it to act up other than if you misplaced one of the cables.

Depending on your voltage your CPU could have undergone electromigration, but 1 month seems like a short amount of time. What were your voltages? Have you overclocked anything else (NB, HT, RAM)?

Running 1.35v I believe, I had offset a .85+ Im pretty sure. It ran fine in the morning before I opened her up, and fine playing bio shock till 3am. Ram timings are set. Other than that its just my 7970 that is overclocked. Nothing I run is allowed to get past 75 when stress testing either

The only things that could be causing an issue are either cables that are not connected, or a dead motherboard. It could be your front panel connector cables. Just a thought, it could be a severed cable perhaps? I don't know how that would happen though if you were just moving them around when this occurred. Don't give up yet though, keep adjusting your cables.
