Intel Dx58so Cold boot problems

Thread Starter
I kno i shouldnt have bought a Dx58so , i kno it's a not much of a good motherboard , But i didnt have other options to go with.

anyways , i decided that i want to overclock my core i7 920 , doing it slowly , got to 3.2 on 1.1v , system is stable , ran prime95 and did some intelBurn test , Everything is fine and stable in windows, then i turned off the computer for a while 3-4 hrs , got back tried to start it , first time it started just the fans , then went back off , then again started and just the fans running , nothing on the screen , so i forced it to shutdown , then started it again , and it started like nothing ever happened , didnt ask me to change clocks didnt do nothing , clocks are still there and everything is fine

happened to me twice , so i thought i should ask , i mean i dont mind clicking the power button twice tongue.gif but im afraid there is gonna be some consequences from this cold boot thingy ,,,

ah and btw i have a Codegen Psu 500W , which is crap , i kno , but i as i was saying i dont have much of an option cause where i live brand name powersupplies do not exist.

so if anyone had the same problem can help me figure why doesn't it boot when cold.
Thanks alot.

I have this board. your probably bot pushing enough volts to your CPU

This board is also not the greatest but can easily push high overclocks.

Though S3 sleep with high overclocks is a no go.

Also for your problem, I have had it do something similar where it would start up shut down then start up normal. Though It has never done this with my new ram, and even it would only do it on a really cold morning.

Update your bios to the latest one.

Funny thing is I have a First Gen DX58SO board.
My buddy has the same Board as me but Rev 2. He has a i7 930 and have his chip overclocked to 4.2ghz using the same settings as I need for 4.2ghz.
Really not bad boards for overclocking as long as you have the newest bios.
Rev 2 boards have the Sata ports turned on the side and facng off the back and their is a skill logo on the board. Nicer layout for sli
Just need to use the right settings
