FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY DONT BUY ANYTHING WITHOUT HDMI AND HDCP! and fyi, the dell screen is 16:10 not 16:9 so sometimes things do get stretched a bit. dont get me wrong, i am totally head over heels for my 2405 and liked it so much my friend ended up buyin a 2407 too. it just seems silly to not have an HDMI input since it is the new standard, not to mention i dont beleive it has HDCP. Think of blu-ray and Hd-dvd. overall, i truely think its a bad time to buy a computer screen unless you HAVE to. however, the 2407 is quite the looker and will make all your friends jealous, and im positive its got better image than the westy altho ive never seen one.

They are High Definition inputs, which you might want if your getting a new-gen game console or watching hd-tv on cable or something. Otherwise you don't really need them

HDMI is a digital video input with sound. DVI is convertable to HDMI. HDCP is a DRM, not a connection type.... it will not let you play BluRay, HD-DVD, and other future media. Dell 2407 supports HDCP and almost all recent TVs do as well. It doesn't hurt to check though.

Get the Dell 3007... nice compromise. Uber-resolution and great size!
Once again...

Yeah the 2407wfp definitely has HDCP, cus even my little 2007wfp has HDCP. And you don't have to have HDMI to have HDCP, all that HDMI has over DVI is that HDMI carries sound too, but if you have any sort of speakers you don't need that.
