Does the 3014 work with a ps3/xbox 360?

It will but it is a total waste of money for the following reasons

1.) It has really obvious overshoot ghosting issues (read about overshoot ghosting here)
2.) many console games have built in motion blur which will increase the motion blur and overshoot ghosting
3.) It has really high input lag unless the Game Mode is used @2560x1600 (16:10) and console games use 16:9 resolutions which the Dell has to scale. Scaling further increases the input lag
4.) The Game Mode uses the wrong color gamut for consoles so colors will not be displayed properly, instead they will be quite over saturated & inaccurate.
5.) Large black bars will appear at the top & bottom of the screen when displaying 16:9 content
6.) there are 200$ monitors with better image quality for consoles vs. the Dell 3014

You are better off spending half as much on a far superior 2560x1440 monitor like the ViewSonic VP2770 or a 32" TV such as the Series 5/6 Samsung's. The PS3 forces 1280x720 resolution most games, since 1280x720 is half of 2560x1440 the monitor performs pixel doubling instead of having to scale the res so no extra input lag will be added. It's best to set the 360 to 720p for the same reasons.

Thanks. Looks like I will find a Dell U2713H then. Need it to work both with PC and PS3

The U2713H has the same ghosting and color issues. If you have to buy a Dell get the U2713HM

So why do ppl recommend the Viewsonic V2770 1440p monitor over other 27" 1440 ones? Is the Viewsonic really good or something?

Thread Starter
I sort of forgot about this thread (sorry!). I wanted to necro it just to say that there are countless issues with the early models (rev a03 and earlier afaik). Some refuse to wake up from sleep. Some have some kind of flashing that looks like there's lightning on your screen (you can see this on youtube). I'm now on my third monitor and I'm quite happy though I'll be jumping ship to 4k as soon as there's something worthy. I would buy the 32" asus 4k today if it could take an upgraded gsync kit capable of 60hz.

My eyes aren't so great so all in all this monitor is pretty good for me but I'll be switching it for 4k asap.

Edit: Dell warranty/support was beyond excellent, overnighted replacements with zero hassle.
