3*3 Monster Rad vs 3 Triple Rad ?

Thread Starter
I just wanted to know which of the following will perform better:

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=29059

VS.

This X3
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_457_667_671&products_id=34298

I want to use 1200 rpm fans. Even though the 3*3 is twice as thick as the triple rad, I heard lots of people said that 3 triples will perform better than a 3*3.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

The MO-RA3 will perform much better and it has a greater look.

Holy crap where in your case would you mount that?

My vote would be for the three 3x120mm radiators. Copper fins plus square channels vs round. They will perform better.

On your system, they'll perform the same, both incredibly overkill. lol. It's not like you're going to be going sub ambient.

I agree with deafboy
Unless you mount 27push and 27pull high static pressure high cfm fans on both sides smile.gif

There will be less internal losses with morad or nova vs 3 individual rads.

My vote goes to the box rad. Its one piece and needs only 2 fittings attached to hook it up which means means 4 less points where a leak could show up. But like others said its totally overkill regardless if you go for the box rad or 3 triple rads. But there's nothing wrong with a nice slice of overkill biggrin.gif

1 triple rad or 3 standard rads will perform about the same ... overkill.

Having done an external cooling system with 3 RX360s and 18 fans, if I had it to do over again, I'd go with 1 triple rad. It will be a LOT cheaper in the long run.4 less fittings and in my case, $175 less for the Danger Den radiator stand. They have a very inexpensive set of legs that you can mount to the triple rad that will basically do the same thing, and since the triple rad is already in it's own housing, you don't have to really provide an elaborate (and expensive) housing for it.

But if you are going to put it into a huge case, say like the Corsair 900D, then definitely go with the 3 120.3 radiators. But for an external setup, go with the single triple rad.
