Recovering data on bitlocker hard drive.. please help!

Thread Starter
So during a routine Windows 7 install, I accidentally hit "delete" on my Storage hard drive, the kicker is... it was encrypted with Bitlocker mad.gif

I've already tried EaseUS tool and it did not work. Which makes sense, because it see's a giant glob of scrambled data.

What are my options duuuudes?

Bahh... I had my life on there frown.gif

I'm not sure on what you can due due to the encryption, however I'm not much into data recovery either. So maybe someone else may be able to help.

But this is why you always backup your data...and one reason why I say to disconnect drives on OS installs.

Had the same issue with one of my drives once. All you can really do is format it and hope you can find that data on another drive.

Create a clone (sector by sector) to an image and then use a hex editor to copy in a standard partition table----who knows, it may work. Without knowing if Bitlocker changes your partition table of MFT there is no way to be certain of anything, but if you can manually re-write the small section that is the partition table, you may be able to get your PC to read the drive again. If Bitlocker alters the partition table, then you may be out of luck, but if not, then you might be able to figure it out. Clone first, and then play with recreating the partition table.

-I'm just throwing these guesses out there.....it's probably hopeless, but worth a shot. I think TestDisk also looks for and restores previous partition table information.
