Hey guys,

I have a plan to sell my current PC and go small smile.gif

Here are the proposed parts.

Intel Xeon E3-1230V2 CPU - $200

ASRock H77 mITX Motherboard - $90

Sapphire 7870 XT - $235

Samsung 840 SSD 120GB - $93

Cooler Master Advanced 120 - $40

PSU I already have.

Total is about $660.

What do you think?

small is good!

At first I was going to say for an extra $30, you can get a 7950 instead, but it doesn't look like your building this to game with.

I'm not much of a Master Cooler "fan". *attempts to persuade*

how about the lian-li itx case

I use a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ (much like lots of people here in OCN), so I'll vouch for them. You're looking to go small, have you been looking at cases yet?

The cooler master advanced is a case smile.gif

As for the Lian Li one, it looks nice, but it is a fingerprint magnet :\

I dunno. This build will be used for gaming and streaming. I chose the Xeon because I just want to try it out smile.gif

Odd case choice tongue.gif

I'm guessing SG-05/SG-08 is overbudget?

Why? It's an mITX case that's reasonably priced from my POV

It's a pretty big case for mITX (the SG-08 is as well)

You can get a used 2500k off of Amazon.com for $177, and you can get a decent Z77 motherboard for like $150 eg. ASRock Z77 Extreme6 or Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H. Throw in a Hyper 212 Evo for like $30, and now you have an overclocked 2500k sitting at 4.5GHz. for around the same price.

I like this idea. Used CPU's aren't bad at all.
