If you are going to go SLI, i'd look for a GTX 670 with the fan design that pushes the air through the card and out the back of the case. I recently just purchased a EVGA GTX 670 FTW (love this card too, had an impulse buy of a second one even!), however because I only play Starcraft II, I may try selling it for the same price I purchased it.

If I end up SLI'ing it, i'll let you know how it goes! smile.gif

Do you have a good airflow in your case? Reference model is always be a choice for most of people in here when doing a SLI mode. Based on that, my vote is go to EVGA 670 FTW because have a 680 PCB/Cooler.

I have 2 x Asus Direct CU II GTX 670's in SLI and they dump hot air into the case. I was getting 80c on the top card until i made a custom side panel and added an intake fan, now its runs fine. Max temp on the top card now is 68c when heavily overclocked and bottom just sits happily at 58c!

If your case has a side panel fan, you don't need to worry too much about which design you go for but as mentioned a reference cooler or one that exhausts hot air out of the case might be a good idea.

I'd also make sure you get a full PCB length card and not one of the shorter ones as the full PCB tend to overclock better.

Overclocking in SLI isn't as impressive as when running a single card but the FPS you get a amazing. Its well worth going SLI. I have had no microstuttering problems atall.

Yup of course, FTW is uses a 680 PCB/Cooler, and have a good overclock based on the result from another OCN members in here. thumb.gif

I'd probably choose the FTW card too as it has a full PCB length, good exhaust style cooler and is one of the cheapest GTX 670's out there thumb.gif

I chose the Asus Direct CU II GTX 670 because i love backplates and i had the Asus Direct CU II GTX 580 before and it was a great card. The Direct CU II cooler is quiet and efficiant it just dumps hot air into the case which can be a problem in SLI unless you have really good airflow and spacing between the cards.

Mine:

You can buy backplates for the FTW which look pretty awsome.

I have no doubt that the cooler on ASUS 670 card is amazing, the first time I saw it on TPU test, I can't believe how quiet the card is. But I realized that "oh this is the Direct CU II" the top choice along with TF IV and Windforce.

Really NICE RIG, btw thumb.gif

I have to say that by far for a non SLI solution the Gigabyte Windforce 3x is probably the best price, performance of the cooling system and little to no noise generated wise card out there. I read a lot about the 670s before buying and there really wasnt anything better all things considered. Since it pushes the hot air inside the case not outside im not sure how itd perform in SLI but i myself am very pleased with it been using it for almost two months now. It clocks well too, +110 core and 550 memory without any problems. Altho the core wont budge any higher but its pretty much on par with every other company.
