I would go for a GTX460 if I were you and you could find one.

For PhysX you'd need about GTX260 level core performance in order to properly do PhysX calcs, this is dedicated mind you so you'd need extra performance on top of that for the rest of the game. Tis why I reccomend getting a 460 with its core count

I would think either the 6870 or gtx 460 would be the best out of that bunch, especially all around $75.. Never had an HIS before but my brothers Sapphire 6870's are great cards. Either of those 2 should be future proof at 1024x768 for probably still quite some time, IMO smile.gif

They are new and under 70.00 price point.
Here are a few based on the nVidia Kepler design.

All support multiple monitors
Direct X 11
Open GL 4.1/4,2
Low power requirements
Physx and such
Either 1GB or 2 GB Cards

Good Warranties:
Evga 3 years
Zotec 2 years
Asus 3 years

You can use them on future builds as you need them

Good recommendations hyperkite, to the OP, if your brother is on an older monitor, i.e. vga only, maybe the ASUS card or get an adapter for DVI to VGA, not sure if applicable, but just to keep in mind if so
post #20 of 22

Edit:
These all have 1 HDMI/VGA/DVI
