When you turn on the computer is it posting (showing the bios screens etc). As long as it is, tap f8 while you are booting. Once you get the screen to select normal windows or safemode or a few other options, from there you will want to enable like VGA boot or something like that, it will force windows back to its basic graphis driver. It sounds like something happened when you installed the driver for the intgrated video card. If that doesnt work let me know and we can go form there.

Nothing on screen
tried without memory and unplugged hdds still the same

You can't boot without memory.

Chances are you have a driver conflict between GPUs. Wipe the HD and start again.

Your bios may be set halt on no media error. Either wipe the drive or slot in a fresh one to check.

You didn't say if you put the ram back in. You will need the ram to post but that has alread been stated. It would throw in your new gpu and just see if it works. Maybe the onboard died, won't be an issue if the dedicated works. Also, make sure your monitor is on and plugged in, have definatly had that happen before lol. Also, if it did some weird color stuff before it went black maybe your DVI cable is bad? All those are very unlikely but worth checking
