Sure the 7970 GHz can OC too but the difference between the two cards max oc won't be the same as when the two are at stock clocks.

The problem with this argument is that - GPU lottery aside - you expect the average 7950 to reach the same clocks an average 7970 can.

The 7950 is a fantastic card. But if you're upgrading from the flagship card of the previous generation, I would consider a 7970.

If you are going to be watercooling then you won't want the Sapphire or XFX cards as both are on a custom PCB and won't accept waterblocks. You will need to find a reference card. The Diamonds are really good, I have two and love them as well as the MSI cards are nice. I have 1 and have no problems with it either. Both are reference. You will want to double check coolingconfigurator though with what ever one you settle on and make sure it is a reference pcb.

Ok. I will check out both the Diamond and MSI. I am assuming either Amazon or Newegg should have them.
What do you mean by a coolingconfigurator? Thanks.

No offense, really, but 4 way sli of titans ?!?!?! :O

i mean
4k + tax

the 3rd card gets you what, an extra 10% in frame rates? and the 4th what an extra 5%??

i mean unless you are using it for something else, and doing it 24/7, i dont see why the waste of money

CC is ran EK, they use it to sell you their blocks, just happens to work for any other block as well. http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/

This is the cards I have... They were out of stock for the longest time that was why I had to pick up the MSI card when I went Tri-fire. But I would just buy that if you want to put it on water, they work great overclock great and they have dual bios which is nice.

This is the same card as the diamond, just branded by Visiontek - HD7970 Vision Tek
