Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Vs. Corsair H80i ???

Thread Starter
I have an Antec 300 case and I'm looking to upgrade the cooling on my CPU (AMD Phenom II X4 955 BLACK Edition). Any pros or cons for either of these coolers? Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Vs. Corsair H80i?
The H80i will be much better than the Hyper 212 EVO but the EVO has a much better price/performance ratio. Both will have about the same sound levels.

Price, performance. Coolermaster hyper 212 has been the go to for a while for budget air cooling, and the h80 has been the go to for an all in one push pull 120 clc. They occupy different price brackets and get pretty different temps depending on your whole setup. You have a 955 black edition so to me you're the type that might like the hyper 212+. Cools decently/overclocks at a good price. I've had decent success with vertical push/pull 38mm panaflos on a fan controller and the included stock fan for the hyper as exhaust. Does decently and I can overclock still. The only con I can think for either of them is justifying the h80i's price. I'm not even sure which clc these days I'd honestly purchase. I'd have to check out some benchmarks tongue.gif

I just picked up the Hyper 212+ for $20 from Newegg.

I have the FX-4130 OC'd to 4.3Ghz stable and my temps with this cooler max. at 50c running Prime95

Yes, it is a good cooler. the heatsink is big and the 120mm fan really moves some air.

for a phenom II x4 955, a 212 is enough

I've been leaning toward the 212 EVO too.

I'm OC'd to 3.5Ghz now and stable on stock cooler. I would like to get up to 4+Ghz with 212. Is that realalistic?
They're in different classes really...they're both great coolers though. The H80i has more cooling power but it's more than twice the price. So if you want to save money get the Hyper 212, if you want more cooling get the H80i.

I should have said that I have two 6950's X-fired just pumping out tons of heat into my case. So with this info should I still go air cooling, or should I try to go with a CLC on the CPU.
why just these two? The 212 is just the cheapest okish cooler and the H80i is pretty expensive. There are plenty of good price/performance options inbetween:

These would be imo amongst the best choices depending on what you want to spend.
