[SOLVED] Any driver after 306.97 incapable of detecting my 2nd video card?

Has anyone had this issue before? I've been on 306.97 since forever and have only tried 314.07 and 310.97 and both drivers completely lose my 2nd card/monitor like it doesn't exist. Any ideas on how to fix this or if this is a common issue? Or does it have to do with the 7800gt being such an old card?(shouldn't be an excuse anyways).

EDIT: Well that was an interesting work around. After 310.97 losing my 2nd card and reporting issues with Windows detecting it, I uninstalled the drivers via Device Manager and restarted. Windows installed the default drivers for the 7800gt, then I restart again and viola, there it is. I may be able to update to the newest drivers after all now that I know how to bypass that issue.

Alright I lied. I "thought" that fixed it, but apparently that uninstalled all video drivers and defaulted to 306.23 as the 310.90 that are still "installed" aren't being reported as the current by any of my programs.

So I made a support ticket through Nvidia and got an official response. Figured I would c/p it here for anyone curious and/if users have this issue in the future.
Quote:
I apologize for the inconvenience, but this is an expected behavior with the drivers above 307.83.

NVIDIA drivers are built on unified driver architecture and so the same driver versions are compatible with older and newer cards too. But that support is limited. With the very new drivers, we unfortunately could not still keep the support on the legacy video cards like 7800 GT.

This is the driver that works with the 7800GT and the GTX 560 Ti cards together.
